Update:: sourced a replacement backlight from a new tv broken screen in transit. collecting it this evening.
In anticipation of fitting the replacement backlight assembly I have again stripped my screen to remove the suspect backlight and have found 1 led not working, I have just replaced the open led and the backlights now come on and stay on,no screen panel fitted though
So I assume once the replacement backlight is fitted all should be well, fingers crossed

TV is now back together and working with my original led's after replacing the open led, The replacement backlight did not fit my tv,
My screen is LC550EQE replacement screen is also LC550EQE but backlight fitted in the replacement screen is slightly different, ie screw mounting holes slightly different positions, and five less led's on replacement screen.

With LG you may have to turn the backlights setting to 65 for ALL the inputs.

for anyone following this thread, i have same issue, but i got brand new LED strips from LEDBarz here in the UK, all the LEDs and string test ok but DR on is missing. now i jumped 3.5v standby to DR_on and the backlights fire up when tv is switched on. is it safe to leave this cable jumped or will it cause damage ? any help appreciated thanks.

and also the tv is stuck on LG screen, does it need a replacement main ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Samsung UN55H8000AF - No Picture, Working Backlight, Replaced T-Con Board
                        by ermals
                        Hi all!
I've recently run into an issue with my Samsung UN55H8000AF LED TV displaying no image. I've done quite a bit of research in terms of what could be wrong with it. Below are the steps I've taken prior to reaching out here for some assistance:

                        1. I've tried replacing the T-Con board (BN95-01594A), twice and have still experienced the same issue with all the boards I've tested with.
                        2. I've tried to remove one side of the ribbon cable that goes from the T-Con board to the panel and still not getting any image on left or right side.
                        3. I've checked voltages...

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily

Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...
