    Samsung PN60F8500 screen glitch/flicker

This one is driving me nuts. Any ideas what is doing this? Nothing visually damaged on any board. Does not appear to be heat related as it happens almost immediately. Firmware up to date and have already reset to defaults.

Happens on all inputs as well as the scrolling test pattern.

The entire screen glitches including the OSD.

    Video below.

    Main board.
Post a picture, we can try a diagnostic mode.

Jumper pins 3 and 4 of the block marked 2CN2014_LO (it has four holes, two marked NT, two marked PAL, jumper pins 3 and 4 of this with a wire)
Then plug in the TV and see if you get test patterns and see if they are stable.

Was good for maybe a minute. then these glitchy lines appeared, then went away, then came back an have been there since. Im guessing they are not part of the pattern.

Not doing the flashing or screen glitching in this mode though.

Your vertical lines are probably a bad panel so that's not good. I see a lot of F8500 with vertical lines due to panel failure.
But this has confirmed that the main board is bad as well.

clean and reseat all cabling going to and from tcon (ie both panel and main board cabling).

:EDIT: Disregard. Put yet another chip on it, back to all 4 sources working and no glitch yet, but this is how it happened the first time ha

Well its gets more strange. This was the one i replaced the HDMI mixer chip in a few weeks ago. I decided since i have a few of them i would pull the chip off the board and run the test patterns again. No lines, no glitching.

Put a new chip on, ran test patterns, no lines, no glitch.

Took out jumper for test patterns, now it is back to the original issue of no signal on some inputs, sometimes. That is to say i can plug a device into HDMI1 - signal. Not touch that cable at all, turn tv off, turn back on, no signal. same goes for other ports and it seems random. Glitching will still happen on HDMI inputs when they get signal.

I see there are many repair services for this main board, mentioning the HDMI issue as symptom. Something that anyone has come across? Any thoughts on what component on this board could be at fault?

It's likely the soldering on the main processor. If you are feeling confident you could remove and reball the processor but you'll need to locate the stencil for it. It's a pretty complex job and not for an amateur.

                    Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                    by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
                    by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

Samsung UN55J6200AFXZA Splash Screen Comes up, goes out, screen flashes one time and then tv won't turn off.
No picture. No sound that I can tell. Backlights are on and have been checked. Flashlight test no image on screen. I replaced the Eprom chip hoping that was the problem but nothing changed.
                    Please help. Thanks in advance!

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
                    by kotel studios
                    Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....
