I have a Visio VO42L10A and When powered off the Visio symbol is orange. When I turn it on the light just goes off but the TV comes on. Not long ago I lost sound but turned the set off and back on again and the sound returned. It has done this a couple of times. Recently the TV turned off suddenly and it would not turn back on. The orange light was on and when I hit the power button it went out (AS USUAL) but there wasn't a backlight sound or picture. I left it unplugged for an hour or so then plugged it back in with the same results. I left it turned on and went to do some research on the problem. well a Half hour or so went buy and I heard a slight "POP" and the TV was on but no sound. So I turned the set off and back on again and there was sound. I am guessing that it could be a solder joint. The set has been performing just fine again for the last 2 hours, but I'm sure that there will be another incident. Any body have any Ideas where to start?

Start by taking the back off and have a look, If it is just a poor solder connection it would likely be an easy repair, if you wait,it will not get better on its own and likely end up causing damage, IE blown power supply components or worse. -
