I understand that but does the backlights level adjustment in the on screen user manual have any affect on the backlights level when you try to adjust it?

Power supply board BN44-00472A, see schematic.
You may be able to dim the the backlights down by installing the the 18K resistor in parallel with resistor OP5.

        None....

The odd thing is that the panel started showing horizontal lines after a few hours of testing....
Maybe the mainboard is breaking down after all....

Horizontal lines will be the LCD panel. Solid color lines?

The picture was fine when I started the TV

after half an hour is started showing some barely visible interlacing..

After three hours the interlacing was clearly visible , but not every other line. there were 2 areas with problematic display...

I will take a photo tomorrow and post it...

                    Re: Samsung UE32D4003BW Backlight problem.

                    Hello, just a wild guess.
Does your tv have separate t-con board? Or is it integrated on the main? I was thinking, that maybe the tcon drives the dimming signal, and if the tcon started failing, that would explain the dimming problem AND the lines.
But besides, you should do 2 things:
Make a few pictures of the whole set, without the back cover, and a few of the main board and tcon, if given sparate.
Your problem getting lines after some time means, that the set operates after a cold start, but as it is warming up, something goes sideways. It doesn't necessarily mean panel failure, but we should investigate the other possibilities first.
                    Cheers, Janos

This model does not have a separate Tcon board.

I find the problem with the lines....
Accidentaly I have tear the flatcable between the panel and the t-con....

                        Bad luck.
After so much search and effort fixing the original problem, I created an unsolvable one.....

Anyway, the original problem was bypassed by cutting the dim line between the board and the psu.

                        Thanks for your input guys!
