Hi I received the TV and trouble shot it down to the back lights. I replaced the led back lights and everything was good. I turned it on it worked great. After I put the bezel and the case back on and turned it on again all I get is vertical colored lines. I checked all the ribbon cables and everything is fine. There is a picture attached of what I get now. Any ideas on what causing this? Thanks so much!

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
Did you flick up the tabs on the tcon connectors to remove the flat ribbons and then pressed it back down into place after re-inserting the flat ribbons or have you just pulled and pushed the ribbons in/out of the connectors?Last edited by dick_barton; 07-10-2018, 08:06 AM.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Yes I reconnected the ribbons on both ends to make sure they were connected properly.Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
If you pushed the ribbons back in then the gold connections on the end may be damaged.
If you disconnect one ribbon from the Tcon and then power up what do you see on the screen.
Power back down and reconnect the ribbon and disconnect the other ribbon from the Tcon to panel and again see what you get on the screen.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
further, did you use your glasses when working with the ribbons to ensure they are aligned properly... :-)
Lastly, check the bezel / frame area near the edge boards to ensure there is no metal pieces contacting the boards anywhere. You had the power disconnected when you were putting the bezel back... right?
actually, looking at the picture closer, you lost the leds again. somewhere in your "re-assembly", you caused an issue with the panel connections. since you are familiar with the leds (having replaced them), check the connection going there first to understand why some appear to be gone again. If you are lucky you might find some "localized" issue / connection there. Related to this is how were you manipulating the panel while the frame and bezel were off?Last edited by budwich; 07-10-2018, 06:01 PM.Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
I ordered used LED strips from eBay and I'm pretty sure one of the strips wasn't good when I tested it but wanted to make sure everything worked ok. I think when I was lifting the TV up I may have damaged the ribbons because I did it by my self and it puts a decent amount of pressure on the bottom of the TV when you lift it. I'll try the removing one strip than the other here in a few mins.Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
Yes I had everything off when I assembled it. I also pulled the bezel off when I was checking the ribbon. I also reconnected the ribbon multiple times and tried it to make sure it was connected correctly. Thanks for the help guys though I really do appreciate it!Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
so you need to really really look at the ribbon cable on the "bad side" (ie. vertical lines).... those are indication that no / little signal is getting to the panel through that cable OR thru the edge board that it is connected to. The other possibility is you caused an issue with the edge board... you need to check some of the SMD components in the edge board (capacitors / resistors) to see if they are OK. IF you are lucky, although the board itself can't be replaced, a careful soldering job can replace a given component while the board is still attached to the panel (because it can't be removed).
My guess is you do not have the cable set properly in the clamped connector, either the pins are misaligned or the cable traces are damaged.Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
I tried the ribbon cable 30 different times. I took the ribbon cable from the other side and tried that to make sure it wasn't the cable. Still the same result. I looked at all the components, couldn't find any broken ones or damaged ones. Any other ideas? Thanks!Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
but on a more serious note. it looks like the panel may of received some damage when you worked on it and i'm doubting that it will be repairable.
seen lots of accidental panel issues doing backlights unfortunately.WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?Comment

Re: Samsung un65fh6001 issues
You've detached part of the leftmost tab bond, you miss now of the vertical informations, there is a very thin possibility of repair it, check youtube on "soldering lcd without bonding machine", something like this..Comment

by jdawg99Hi All,
I need some help with this one please. I am attempting a repair on the backlight. TV turns on and flashes the LG logo so stripped it down and found one faulty LED. Replaced it and tested on an LED tester and the strip was good. Put it back onto the PSU and it lasted about 20 seconds before going out again. Same LED had blown. Changed it for another type of SMD one (same voltage) and it seemed fine. Put the TV back together but it was quite dim. Noticed it was in power save mode so turned it off and the screen was bright. Left it on for half an hour only to come back to the... -

Summary of Issue: The included, Bluetooth remote had a continuously blinking red light indicating lack of pairing. Attempts at pairing would result in message "Not Available". Normal, Samsung IR remote seemed to perform all functions normally. This is how I discovered wifi was also not functioning. Wierd issue. Set turns on, works as normal, then turn off, and when you try to turn back on, it wont. The backlight comes on, but doesnt boot up. You need to disconnect power supply from back, then reconnect it, and then the set works again. somewhat annoying issue.
Where to start? I can provide any videos or pictures needed to troubleshoot....... -
by TKFAfter a lot or reading and searching I suspected PB Power Board#BN44-00775A but after voltage tests I'm not sure what they indicate or point to.
1st I unplugged MB and left only BLs plugged in to see if I got light No BLs come on. So I suspected Black lights but then tested BLs with BL tester they came on. I suspect a short somewhere I started testing at the STB pin 8v/on13v I get 12.80v note no stb lights on
I noticed with only MB plugged in MB showed signs on life saw red light on not sure from where and it started warming up.
