Hey guys !
New around here, tried a bit of diag on my own before venturing here, but have not had any luck so far. Hoping someone can shed some insight as to whether or not this TV is a lost cause or not.
TV is a PN50A450P1D Samsung Plasma
Symptoms:
Powered on the TV after it sat for a couple of weeks, after the boot tone heard a loud pop. When the TV booted, the screen picture was as seen in the photos below. This is with my PS4 hooked up, same type of picture presents itself with all inputs and menus.
I ran the pictures tests by disconnecting the logic board main cable and jumping pins 3&4, screen briefly powered on displaying the same distorted pink/orange picture and then shut down immediately on its own.
Found a popped cap on the power supply board. Replaced this cap to no avail, same picture.
Assumed it was an X-Main board failure and ordered a tested replacement with the following specs to match the unit I had installed.
Model no: 50" HD W3 X-Main (1L)
PCB NO: LJ41-05307A
REV NO: R2.5 (07/12/15)
PBA NO: LJ92-0151A/B/C/D
Finally booted up the TV again today to see no change. Looking to either confirm this is an X-Main failure (perhaps I was sold a faulty unit), or perhaps this TV is a lost cause.
Any insight is greatly appreciated !
