    Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 7 blinks

Ok, replaced the resistor. I get a green light on the SC board (SU / SD disconnected and Jumper shorted)..

Then I get 6 blinks. Upon testing the SC card, I don't see anything failed, but now the SS card is pretty much shorted. Almost all the FETs / Diodes are shorted. What am I doing wrong??

was the driver boards repaired or tested before connection to SC board?

Yes, the SS board FETs and Diodes where spot checked before the repair. After the SC repair, that's not the case. Thanks

Ok I am about ready to take this TV to the backyard and practice some shooting!

Green light on the SC (repaired), new (used) SS card with green LED on. TV turns on, momentarily I see a sign of life on the screen, then shuts off with 6 blinks. SU SD don't seem to have any shorts. What am I missing, expert friends???

Ok, I decided to replace the SC card with a working one, and voila, the TV is working again.
I still don't know what I missed on the SC repair with ShopJimmy kit.

glad you got it working. there are lots possible control circuit smd's (ic's) on that board that could be bad / marginal. Not sure which or how many you replaced. I am hoping that I don't run up against the same issues when I finally get around to attacking my 50s30 set (still waiting on parts).

I am going to wish you good fortune with your 50s30 set. As for myself I am in the middle of troubleshooting and repairing the P, SS, and SN boards on my TC-P42ST30 set. It seems every time I think I am close I jump into another area and find diodes shorted and other things but I am going to wait until I have the first round of suspected bad SMD's replaced. What I am hoping I am seeing are a false reading due to components being in proximity or in circuit with known failed shorted components. I am posting because the two sets are similar and I want to follow this thread.
