I've been working on a NEC TurboExpress and I accidentally got the plastic inside the power ON/OFF switch too hot while doing other repairs and melted it. At first, it would still power on when sliding the switch, but you had to really press inward while sliding to get it to work.
I removed the switch component and tried to gently melt the plastic back so it would work more reliably and all I managed to do was make it worse.
I need to find a replacement On/OFF switch for this, but having some trouble figuring out which kind of switch I need.... -

I want the switch to be open when the water is high, and closed when the water is low. Unfortunately it works the opposite. And since this switch is designed to be underwater, it's all sealed up, there is no taking it apart or hacking it up.
It will be driving a water pump, basic idea, when the water is low, switch closes, which turns on water pump, when enough water is in the tank, float switch floats,... -
Hi guys I have a Panasonic blue-ray disc player Surround Sound that is giving me a lot of headache trying to repair. When i press the Power button it gives a Click Click sound but doesn't turn on.I checked Power Supply Board for swollen or bad ESR caps with my ESR Meter and all i found was some swollen caps on the Audio Board i changed with new caps but still the same. Checked the whole board for shorts and there isn't any.I used to have like 3.3v on the Power Switch Button but now i have 20v ... Is that normal? isn't it supposed to be 3.3v on the Power Switch? A month back I replaced the selector switch IC on my Panasonic SA-HD52 as the radio was still playing when I selected the CD, it did this with the tape and record too.
Now when I replaced the IC it worked perfectly, no cross talking and I left it at that for a month and have come to it today to play a CD (you can hear it spinning) and the issue has come back although with another issue.
Both issues are random, the original problem where the radio will play over other playbacks has come back and another time you turn it on it will refuse to play anything,...09-07-2025, 07:23 AM
