    Samsung un55d6003sf

Hello all, I have the above mentioned TV, the TV turns on, shows the Samsung Splash logo, then goes to show HDMI 1/ DVI in the top left corner then stays there. It won't show No Signal or anything it just sits there. There is no response from the button panels or a remote. I hooked up a known working game console to the TV's HDMI 1 port and started it up, the tv did not respond.
I should note the TV turns itself on as soon as it's plugged in.

My theory is something to do with the EEprom on the main board but finding parts for this thing seems to be darn near impossible and pretty pricey.

Usually mainboard issue when tv does that, I guess I would give eeprom a shot, especially if mainboard is "pretty pricey"

Shopjimmy might have one, took a look didn't see a match, could call m, might have one they didn't put on site yet.

Yeah it was looking like a minimum of 100$. I figured there was probably a way to factory reset it or flash the eeprom but have no idea how to do that.

If shopjimmy has one should be about 15 bucks, looks like 16 pin eeprom, some good videos on youtube on eeprom replacing.

Have you tried a firmware update? I guess it might not be possible if you can't access the menu
If you do suspect the eeprom, try freezing it. looks like its IC2201
unplug tv, freeze eeprom, plug in and turn on, if the tv works you have at least confirmed the problem

I didn't see any replacement eeprom on shopjimmy. I will look into how to do eeprom replacements. I have absolutely no idea what freezing the eeprom means. Yeah I can try looking into a firmware update. It's possible that loading a flashdrive into the tv with the appropriate file might overwrite the boot sequence.

In order to perform a firmware update, i would have to access the menu after starting so unfortunately no luck there.

To freeze the eeprom you use cold/freeze spray or you can use caned air by inverting the can and the propellant will freeze the ic.
                    Something like this https://www.mgchemicals.com/products...-cold-134-403a

I have used this trick on other tv's (like Vizio) and it worked.

Reflow the main chip or bake in oven.

I found this thread that seems to have the identical problem. In terms of reflow, i suppose i could try that. I'm not sure what you mean main chip though. EEprom? NVRAM or other chip entirely. RJ pointed out where to find the EEProm but no idea where the NVRAM chip would be or the "main chip".

Usually the a bad eeprom causes a no turn on condition as its not read when first pluged in so the micro has no idea what to do, I would not really think the nvram would cause this a it is usually where channel programing vol & other levels are stored, but having corrupt data somewhere who knows what could happen.

Update, I froze the we prom chip and the tv is now functi9ning normally for the moment. My next question is do you think the we prom needs fully replaced or do you think a firmware update might clear the problem.

Whats a "we prom" The eeprom/spi flash ic could be having problems, you would need to get a blank spi flash ic (eeprom), remove the onefrom the board, place it in a reader/programer like a CH341a, freeze the ic, read it, then program the new blank ic and install it.
or try and find a pre programed ic or bin file for this tv.
now that it is working you could try getting the firmware update and applying it, but sometimes the update can cause problems if it goes wrong or does'nt complete.

I would do the firmware, while your able, then do a factory reset, then if it acts up again, you can be pretty sure that "weprom" eeprom needs replaced.

Ok ok, we can all laugh at my phone's autocorrect lol. I'll try getting the firmware update going and doing a reset. For the time being I'm calling it fixed. Thanks everyone for your help.
