    Vizio D40-D1 Totally Dead

Vizio, completely dead.. At plug in or power up, no POWER LED, nothing on the backlights....

Gonna check voltages, but wanted to ask about this first.. I did check the fuse, which is good..

In the attached pic, which (if either) is the component most likely to be bad..

    The cap or the resistor..

I would check/replace them both. I give my vote to the resistor.

The resistor burnt out for a reason. I would check diodes and mosfets in that area. What model power supply is it?
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

That is the resistor for the Source pin of the power Q8100 MOSFET that drives the primary winding of that T8100. The SMPS IC that drives the Gate of that MOSFET may be damaged when the MOSFET shorted out..

              Thanx for the reply..

I went ahead and just ordered a replacement board.. Seemed to be the path of least resistance...
