My LG42LV4400 TV will not come on? The red light on the front is on when plugged in but do not change when the power on button is pressed or the power-on on the remote is pressed. Yesterday was fine turned it off with the remote last night and it hasn't come on since. I did pull the back off it to check for swollen caps but none seen. I did check a couple of voltages on the power supply board @ CN201 and found that I have 5v standby but no 12v. Should 12V be present there before being turned on.

Re: LG 42LV 4400 Will not come on
Please report the Voltage for all those pins except GND pin as request in post #2
You MUST put down the pin name and follow by the Voltage reading for eack pin when TV is off and when the power switch is activated so we can easily see what it has and does not have in two states.Never stop learning

Re: LG 42LV 4400 Will not come on
Please check the DC Voltage right between the two legs of the main filter cap in the HOT side of the circuit, it should be around 380 ~ 400VDC range.

Re: LG 42LV 4400 Will not come on
Well, that means the PFC Voltage booster circuit is not working, that 12V and the LED power supply section needs that Booted Voltage to run.
There are 3 barrel body type Diodes D800A, 800B, 801 close by the main filter cap, check the RESISTANCE in both directions on all 3 of them and report the readings.Never stop learning

Re: LG 42LV 4400 Will not come on
Tks again budm D801 is showing 0 ohms in one direction and 0L in other direction D800A D800B is showing 0L in both directions without any power supplied. With unit plugged in D800A & B is showing 10.9 m oms in one direction and 0 Ohms in the other direction where as 801 is showing 0L one direction and 0 ohms in the otherLast edited by davg; 06-03-2018, 05:23 PM.Comment

What Ohm scale are you using?

Re: LG 42LV 4400 Will not come on
Use 200 Ohms scale on that D801, but at this point I doubt that 801 is bad otherwise it would have shown <1000 Ohms in BOTH directions.
What we to do next is to check VCC pin of the PFC Controller IC to see if it has switched DCV on the VCC pin to run.Never stop learning

Looking at your pictures which are not very clear, it looks like 8-PIN SMD IC801 to the left of D801.Never stop learning

NCP1608 PFC Controller by ON Semi.
Check and see if you do have Voltage between VCC and GND PIN or not when TV is turned on. Be real careful since you are working in the deadly side of the circuit.Attached FilesNever stop learning

Re: LG 42LV 4400 Will not come on
It does not matter if the TV comes on or not, we are looking to know if the Voltage changes or not when power switch power switch is activated.
"Remote on\off and I am reading 5.2v" right now the power supply is getting the control Voltage to turn on the rest pf the power supply but it is NOt happening right now so you need to fix the power supply problem first before anything else.
You should read the basic troubleshooting first so you will understand how the TV works.Never stop learning

by cstoutHello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.
The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.
I can't find any schematics... -
by Mc_MillianHello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.
I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.
I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.
Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.
The power button, along with the volume, back, select, and directional... -
by edugimenoHi! I have this TV set that does the following:
1) I press the red power button on the remote
2) The TV turns on normally
3) After that it won't take any other command from the remote, neither power off, volume, channel, NOTHING
4) We need to either pull the main cable or use the built in button at the bottom to select funcion OFF
Then after it's off, it would again accept the TURN ON from the remote and same again
BUT:
-The remote does show the correct IR beam while observed thru a phone camera
-The TV works fine while using the MiRemote... -
by tmhobadcapI have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.
At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked... -
by rustinjustI’ve got a subwoofer that I’ve had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I’ve lost. It’s a generic make of subwoofer, I can’t see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.
Question recently I’ve connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I’d like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it
Is there...-
