Although some of the pins differ in resistance eg. Pins 16,18 & 28 there does not appear to be a short circuit or any low resistance on the other pins other than the ground pins.

The only thing I can think of is

1. Lift the panel and check for certain that ALL the lamps are coming on.
2. Replace the SEM2107
3. Replace the inverter board.

Other than that I am completely out of any other idea's.

I am very thankful to you and budm for all your help with this. I pretty much came to the same conclusion. It's come down to that. I'll update you guys if I ever get this thing fixed and yes, this truly is a great forum for getting help with faulty electronics. Thanks guys!

Well, I ordered the redesigned inverter from China. I took exactly one month to arrive. Ordered it June 3 and got it July 3. So far it is working good. The tcon plug was not a perfect fit but it does plug in. The other plug fit perfect. It's really nice to have the tv working again and going through the troubleshooting process in this thread really helped. Thanks again!

So, I have some more questions. It seems one of the ccfl tubes is bad. A dark stripe shows on the screen but most of the time is not noticeable. It looks like the tube is powered by the transformer that was making all the noise before. I'm wondering if the bad tube could have caused a problem with the transformer, which doesn't seem likely to me, or if the transformer could have blown the tube, which seems more likely. Is it easy to find these tubes and where would I find them? Is it easy to replace a tube? Thanks.

Worn out lamp will draw more current which is bad for the transformer.
