LG 50LA6970 backlight turns off after 2-4 minutes
So I have a lot of experience with LED's going bad. Most of the time they either wont turn on at all or they come on for a split second and then go out (and you can still see the picture doing the flashlight test. The LED's on this set go off after about 3 minutes. I can even play some XBOX or cable on it for these 3 minutes - then they go out and I can still see the picture with the flashlight. My question is: Is this looking more like a LED Driver board problem because of the amount of time it takes for the LED's to go out? From my experience they usually turn off/go out fast if one or a couple LED's are bad on a strip/strips. Also, why would it take long for the backlight to go out if an LED were going bad. When I get home I am going to see if when they go out, I can turn the TV on again and see if they stay out or come back on again for another 2-4 minutes. I have LED strip tester as well that I can use on the LED's but havent taken it apart yet. Thanks for the help or comments (I'd like to know what you guys think from what i've told you). My guess is it's the LED backlights and not the Driver. If one LED on a strip is bad it will take longer to shut down. Maybe not every strip is bad in this case, hence the reason for the longer time to shutdown. -

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I guess that is true, it could just be 1 led on 1 strip. Ill take the LED strips out and test to see who the culprit is... Ill also look for bad grounds/solder joints. Someone else was having issues with those on another one of these but their symptoms were the backlights were flashing on/off like flickeringComment

Flashing on/off could be the same issue as with yours. Be careful handling that big screen, they crack easy.Comment

Going to check this over the weekend, havent had time yet. Oh yeah, have to be careful. I have now successfully fixed 2 75" Samsungs that had bad LED strips so I know how it is with large panels... its freakin scary LOL

I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth... -
I have a problem with the asus g750jx, it shuts down exactly every 30 minutes. There is no overheating and the like, it works perfectly for half an hour. it turns off both in bios and in windows. My guess is that the bios is the problem, would anyone like to take a look and try to fix this bios so I can flash it again?
I should mention that the bios update did not help.

Does not turn on, lights 3 of the 4 LEDs and turns off and stays like this, presses the power and repeats.
I saw that the room LED lights up only when the screen is connected, so quiet.
We have all the power supplies, even processor, 1.8V
One thing I found strange, it has a very low resistance in the Vcore is giving 1 Ohm , work with notes and such, I know that this is normal in some processors but with this resistance only take video card so found it strange.
I suspect that there may be some leak in the processor.

asus x510u accelerating fan and after a few minutes it turns off even in bios.
i've tested only motherboard without battery, keyboard, replaced fan, disabled discrete graphics, replaced memories and still shutting down. I am using last bios. -

I have a Philips LCD 47PFL4606H/12 that turns off after around 10 minutes and then i cant turn i back on again without removing the power cord and attach it again. Then it turns itself off again after some minutes. When this happens the red led that usually indicates standby mode is off.
Can it be the same problem as in this thread?
