Sharp 60" TV LC-60C6600U screen flash on power on then no backlight or picture

Hello everyone, I got a 60" Sharp Aquos for free from someone on nextdoor. When it's powered on I can see the HDMI wording on the screen for about a second then the backlighting turns off. Can still hear audio but no picture is visible even with an LED flashlight on the screen. I don't see any leaking capacitors, disconnected all cables and reconnected. The only way I have been able to get the backlight to remain on is by disconnecting the 2 cables coming out of the bottom of the tcon board.

I'm stumped not really sure what to do next.

Pictures are attached. Thank in advance for any help.

disconnect only one of the tcon to panel cables at a time and see if the display happens.

I tried one at a time to panel and still no backlight. Only backlight with 2 at bottom disconnected.

according to the other thread that was started for the same problem might be the main board. See.

Pictures are not clear enough to read any texts printed on the board.
I need to be able to read the board part number, the pin name for each pin of the connector, etc.

On this one it would be very handy if you can get your hands on a oscilloscope and check the lvds with it.

Ok I guess I didn't check each cable individually like I thought I did! I must have just tried with bottom right cable disconnected because I just tried again and now it will come on with the left bottom cable disconnected. I now see part of the Sharp logo on boot up but there are lines alternating. Pictures attached.

so you are saying. that the otherway around, there is no picture. if so, and probably thep posted pictures kind of confirm... you have panel / tab problems that are associated with the half that you see the vertical lines on. check the tcon to panel cable again.... both ends to ensure they are seated correctly.... otherwise you are likely out of luck.

further i would. redo the cable check that i suugested earlier as i would havef expect a better result the other way around. stiill further if the other way does not work, then look / check some of the capacitors on the bottom edge boards... they could be gone but may be fixable.

The TV will only show a picture with the left bottom tcon cable disconnected. If I try it with only the left cable connected I don't get any backlight or picture after the initial screen flash.

So it's not likely just a bad tcon board? Should I try the hooking up the right side cable on the left connector and see what happens?

check if mirror imaged connectors and any other differences before you try that

no don't "cross swap ends" as the circuitry is not "symetrical". it is quite likely you have some bad smd caps on the edge boards.... people have been successful at replacing them on set if you are good with a soldering iron.

so you need to check some of those components and compare (ie. since you have similar components on each side / edge board).... this may point to a failed component that you may be able to replace.

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                  Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...

Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...
