Vertical, sorry that pic is upside down. Also hazy colors on the sides that come and fade away.Last edited by kevinm34232; 03-31-2018, 01:49 PM.Comment

Maybe try heating up mainboard with a hair dryer, check for changes in picture.Last edited by nomoresonys; 03-31-2018, 02:17 PM.Comment

Re: Samsung UN55KS8000FXZA Bad Panel?
Looks like some have fixed theirs by flipping the data cable that goes from powersupply to mainboard, bad or dirty connection I guess.Comment

Bad panel was my first thought, the vertical lines looked same as this video, a lot of the replies said it cleared the problem up:

I understand that, but that does not carry any video data as far as I know. They had an issue with the TV cycling on and off which makes more sense though.Comment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKqDYCkBPJk was wrong video, meant to post this one BUT he seems to have vertical lines but no black blotches like you have which probably means a bad panel.Last edited by nomoresonys; 03-31-2018, 04:08 PM.Comment

- Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
- Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
- Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
- Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
- Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display

by triplefourTV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.
tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board.... -
by NWArkGuyWell, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...
In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.
I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.
I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ... -
by KYBOSHI came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).
When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.
Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors... - Loading...
