    SammyPN42 Has Audio/No Video

VS and VA both at 52V DC. I have all correct voltages at large connector on smps feeding main board except 5.3V pair in middle. I have 15V and 5 volt standby. PS_ON has 3.3 volts when off, 0V when on. I have 5.3V going to Logic Board from small connector on smps. I ?Do not have any voltage ever on VS_ON from Logic board to smps.

    Re: SammyPN42 Has Audio/No Video

It is obvious the logic board sends the VS_ON signal to SMPS. I assume that the MAIN board tells the logic board to do so..hard to isolate as the only connection between the two boards is a ribbon cable..can anyone tell me what voltage is supposed to be applied to VS_ON? Could the lack of 5.3V on the center two conductors in the cable from SMPS to Main be the cause of the lack of my VS_ON signal?
    Thanks In Advance!

VS_ON should be 3.3V according to what I have found and is switched by logic board. I have a board on the way..

        Re: SammyPN42 Update

Update: Replaced logic board and smps. Still have slow flash on LED on logic board.I now have 5.3V on two pins of cable going from smps to Main board.(Did not have before)
I am now getting 3.2V for about 3 to 4 seconds from logic to VS_ON on smps, then drops to zero.
With all boards plugged in, smps is going into shutdown of some kind. If I unplug Y sus cable I get start up with samsung jingle. If I plug y back in and unplug X main, I also get start up and samsung jingle..There are some stains on bottom side of X main..Could this be from water?

I just read it. Very good information. In my case, three of the 5 transistors on X main are shorted. Looks like water may have contacted X Main..I tested Y buffer board for shorts and did not find any..I will try the ribbon cable test.
            Thanks for the info!!

Here is one X main repair kit. It has two IGBT transistors and also replaces an IC.

              https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Repair-Kit-F...-/221871091607

Here is one Y main repair kit.

              http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn9...repair-kit.htm

There is a note on Shopjimmy to update the firmware if the Xmain is replaced.

Q4001, Q4003, and Q4007 IGBTs are all shorted on X Main.

Replaced X-Main. Same slow heartbeat on logic. Removed new X Main, same IGBTs are shorted. Y-Main has to be the culprit. With both X and Y sustains disconnected both cables and ribbons, I get a happy heartbeat on logic board. Retested Y buffer for shorts, none found.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                      Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                      by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

LG 60PK550 Logic Control Board EBR63450301
                      by Yanleb
Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
                      C57: 3.30V
                      C61:...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
                      by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

                      MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...
