Scored a Sony Bravia with two pink lines on the screen. Funny thing is they go away after about 30 minutes use. Bad panel?

Right on. I will do that for sure. Once the lines are gone she looks really good! They only seem to appear until it warms up.They call me......."threadkiller"Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL52W5100....two thin pink lines that go away
For the sake of adding to the knowledge base I have an update. I finally got time to get back to this. One screw in the pedestal base was in the wrong place upon disassembly....so someone has been in to it before.
The tape over the t-con cover looked untouched. I carefully removed it and cleaned the contacts on both ribbon cables. There were no real signs of bad connections but the contacts were slightly tarnished. The inside of the TV is super clean.
Interestingly enough the colors now appear more vibrant and the picture is a bit sharper. Even the two pink lines are sharper and more crisp, until it warms up and they go away.
So....the display is on it's way out. Truth told I'm not a bit upset. I checked out the board prices and there's a gold mine in there! When the lines become more constant I'll stop using it and have a sell-off! I call this $20.00 well spent, and I have a TV well good enough to use.....at least for a while!
I only have one more question. I accessed the service menu and the total hours display as 00129. There's no way it only has 129hrs on it, so am I reading this wrong?
Thanks everyone!They call me......."threadkiller"Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL52W5100....two thin pink lines that go away
It could have been reset. Since there are just 2 lines you could try putting a piece of rubber or plastic to put pressure on the affected tab, will have it going for a few months at least.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL52W5100....two thin pink lines that go away
Have a jvc tv, if the screws holding the frame of the screen, the last ones you unscrew before you get to the tab bonds iirc, if they weren't screwed in just right there would be those thin vertical lines, too tight or too loose on each screw and you would get a line.Comment

I tried different torque on the screws and the lines are still there. Thanks for the idea, it was worth a try! They call me......."threadkiller"Comment

by thstuffThis "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.
Thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1091829 helped in proceeding as follows:
1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.
2) Waited 30 seconds, then pressed remote Power button and "Select language"...01-30-2023, 05:01 PM -

by ggil44Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

by PopsCapsI have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times... - Loading...
