You might want to check this seller out, they offer a repair only service for US $45.00 you might want to check with the vendor if your precise board is covered though

    Hope this helps you

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem

I couldn't find a cheap main board so I decided to go with the baking option yesterday and tadaaaa.... It worked like a charm !
My TV's been working perfectly fine since yesterday
Very surprised but with so many successful attemots from youtube reviews, I figured, let's do this... Anyways, thank you all very much for your much appreciated help

One thing which bugs me is not having Youtube from that 2011 smart TV... any ideas how to get youtube to work without a device?
It's connected to the internet but web browsing is a nightmare ! An app would be great but no longer supported by LG...
      Thanks

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem

Baking the board for only 10 minutes is probably not enough, using kitchen oven is probably poisonous so worth what DX says.. Unfortunately reballing job from laboratories is made maybe sometimes not well so it wont last much, probably a new chip is needed or a 24h baking of it. Let's hope that at least it works for long but i have doubts.. Mainboard has components in boht sides, i don't know how a cooking can work if the bottom compon. do not fall down...

All you need is a smart phone if you have one you know your tv can be cast to as befor the youtube flash player phase out it worked

Goto your phones app store get the app called AllConnect its free and works good i use it problem solved

Open allconnect app on phone it should see your lg tv as a device if it dosent connect your tv up via wireless because you need tv connected for this to work once you see your tv as a device your all set open youtube link within app and pick content then stream it should connect to tv.

Download Web Video Cast from Google Playstore on your mobile connected to the same DLNA network as your old LG Smart TV and stream all youtube videos via DLNA to the video quality of your choice.

It's so sad.. damn... yes i've told about that the temperature is not enough, also the low temp. baking is not long enough probably, it needs both, if it doesn't work a new CPU is the only choose.

I will do the baking again, but I need more info...
1st time I did it for 11 min at 385 F... It worked for about 2 weeks.
What temperature / time do you recommend for 2nd attempt?

I have to take the while freakn thing down again from the mount... FML !

Re: LG 47LV5500-UA TV display problem

Simply a kitchen oven can't reach the right temp. that is about 300°, i have no skill in this field but i feel that is needed various hours of normal temp. baking (this to eliminate humidity from the cpu) and then a REFLOW operation (few minutes until chip moves) with HOT air station, not a work for novice.. take into consideration to buy a new chip from aliexpress if present after contacting a reballing service center, they must cook the chip before solder it, ask the chip seller on how many hours.

Lead free solder melts between 422.6º and 429.8º F or between 217º-221º C.
300º is way to hot and likely melt any plastic connectors.

This is a Hot Air Station job. That is the ONLY way to fix this issue, if you can't get a replacement board. 350C at air flow 4 for 10min. I did this 3 times already on three sets and so far they are holding out. LG TVs, by the way.

                          OK, i did not remember this, i thrust normal oven can't reach 220°C and 385 °F is 197 °C.
TO A.ALI: how much lasted them until today?

One was last year June, the other two are earlier this year. I use a 858D Hot air Station. Bought it of a Chinese seller off e-bay. The TVs were LGs. It would seem that other than backlight issues, LGs have this BGA chip failing issue also. Since you know your main Bd. is good, borrow a hot air station from a friend, perhaps and do the magic. I used the medium sized nozzle. Just be careful not to blow off any of the SMD components from the board and look on the under side when you are finished to verify no SMDs were displaced.

when you backing , actually its not repair.what it happen that you take MB out and during this was discharge to EEPROM. so the TV work again normal. TV reset shpuld be done not with setting menu. but with command INSTOP. there are apk work on Android mobile like Galaxy S5 with it had build in IR , i posted yesr before over here. you can search after it. and use INSTOP. this will discharge and reset the TV to Factory state

I fixed a LG 47LV5400, same issue. Just used hot air gun to reflow the main processor in the main board. Make sure to hot and time enough both bottom and upper (never touch the processor during this process).

You have me all confused now... so the issue is still there as I haven't done anything BUT it went away on its own yesterday only to show again about an hour later but not as bad... really weird.
Should i bake t again at 300 farenheit instead of 285 in case my oven is not completely accurate?
I'll look for a used main board online... there might be soem available now...
                                  Thank you

I would not recommend to bake it with oven, as this way will affect all components in the main board. Only the main processor BGA Soldering is the problem.
(In Ebay most of them are the repair service only, not a whole main board to sell. If you already baked it, the repair guys will not accept to repair your board any more !)

LG tvs seem to be breaking all the time, don't think I would sink too much money in one, might be better off with a new tv and new brand.
