    Samsung LN46A650 bad T-con??

Hello Badcaps experts! I have a Samsung LN46A650 that definitely had a bad T-Con. The TV would turn on, make the chime noise, and then turn off (no chime) and cycle over and over. If I unplugged the T-Con, then the TV would turn on and stay on with good back light. So, I bought a replacement T-Con...

Now, the TV turns on and stays on AND I get a picture BUT ... the picture is messed up. It has horizontal lines (almost like static interference) running through it. After a while it will stabilize and give a good picture and then a little while later the lines will come back. There picture is 'solarized' as well. See attached photos. I've also included a video here: http://******/2mBIun8

Did I get another bad t-con? Or do you think it's something else?

    Thanks!!

I think there's a plague around in that someone is selling bad tcons, just for sure are you able to make a pair of hires pictures to the as15 soldering on new tcon? 45 degrees is the inclination to watch it, you can take all the pins in two photos. Bye.

I would say bad tcon replacement. 1st before this, try cleaning the LVDS cable contacts, both sides with a pencil eraser.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Thanks, gents. I tried cleaning the LVDS cable. No luck. I've contacted the seller and requested a replacement t-con. This seller (electroparts warehouse) is usually very reliable, so I'm kind of surprised to get a bad board from them, but I'm confident they will rectify the situation. Will let you know when I get the replacement.

Sorry i've said as15, i'm confused, maybe that tv has not as15, that model mounts i think AUO panel or Samsung panel, i'm unable to see the video. For me it can be also bad lvds cable.

Update: I received a replacement t-con from the seller this weekend. The new t-con was also defective and worse than the first. With this t-con I got no picture on the screen, but once in a while a vertical bar would light up purple. I also noted that this t-con was missing its heatsink.

The seller is sending me another replacement.

                Re: Samsung LN46A650 bad T-con??

Update: Received 3rd replacement T-con today. It exhibited the same behavior as the 1st replacement I ordered (interference / solarization).

I noted that when I bumped the LVDS cable the interference/solarization seemed to clear up. So, I wiggled the cable and was able to cause/eliminate the problem depending on the position of the cable. I wasn't able to determine if the LVDS cable is the problem, or the connector on the t-con, but in the end I taped the LVDS cable to the panel using some metal tape and all is well! This leads me to believe my original t-con and the 2nd replacement were both definitely BAD and the 1st and 3rd replacements are likely good.

Anyways, the TV is working perfectly now, so we conclude this story Thanks for the help!

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                  by TR103
                  Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                  - sound and backlight, but no picture
                  - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                  - it keeps rebooting
                  - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                  - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                  - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                  - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                  by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                  Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung LCD TV no picture backlight on no 12v at tcon
                  by shelby5041
                  hi
i have a samsung lcd tv

it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture

all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v

i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue

no 12v at the tcon fuse

i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse

                  the odds of having 2...

                  Hello all,

This is my first post, but long term lurker on the form learning as much as possible about these TV's. I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...
