Sharp LC-80UQ17U - my father in-law's TV. Won't turn on with hard buttons or remote. No blinking LED indicators up front. Unplug set and plug back in and it works fine, for a day. Sits overnight and same issue - dead until i unplug it and plug it back in.
First thought was a power board problem so i ordered a salvaged power board and swapped it in, but the problem persisted.
Any ideas? would this set store codes internally that would perhaps prevent it from powering on until the codes were reset? Would this be a problem with thee main board?
I didnt do anything after installing the new power board in the way of reset or anything, ios there something else i need to do?
A tech from a local TV repair shop is coming on friday to check it out, so im trying to get info and ideas before he gets to it.
All the "no power up" threads ive turned up all deal with error codes - if the set does not show any error codes, what should i do?
