Pioneer pro 800HDI plasma tv powers on and off immediately

hi i found this beautiful older plasma tv in trash

    when i power it on

it powers on and then off immediately

you can see the plsama display light up for a fraction of a second and then powers off

led light on front flashes in sequence of 3 when tv powers off and plugged in

i have not taken tv apart yet..just seeing if someone has any ideas what issue could be before i tear it apart

    thanks

Check this thread, Post #15 https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...+service+guide for the service guide. 3 blinks indicates a X Drive dc-dc error

Would x drive issue be the z or x board?

Here is a screenshot.....where the circled 3 is defines the area where 3 flash code exists

What is the digital video assy?

                  Did you look at that service guide? page 30: G3 PDP433CMX, PDP503CMX, PDP4300, PRO800HDI & PRO1000HDI
What color is the flashing led, Red or Green?

I also posted a link (in post #2) to the thread that has the training manual

When i plug tv in the red standby light stays solid

Flashing green 3 times is DEW_DET, I suspect the tv got wet, there is a moisture sensor on the y drive assy, plug CN2002

Yeah i just saw that..its diff than the pro810hdi serv manual

And thanks for the serv manual

And yes tv prob is wet...i found it outside lol....

Pretty interesting that it has a sensor like that...this model tv seems pretty sophisticated....its loaded with boards ....

Ill wait few days.....the person i got it from said it wouldnt power on but since it was outside its obviously giving an added error....

The tv is in mint condition...i cant believe when i opened the back up all the boards looked brand new...no dust or dirt or anything.....very odd for a tv 13 yrs old....

                                  rj

                                  update

i let tv sit for another day to see if condensation error went away and it did

however now tv would not power on at all and i had a 1 green 1 red flash on front now

..serv manual says its a shutdown that disables the power button so i reset it per serv manul by doing some key sequesnce inputs and tv would power on and then off again

i then found out that you can not have the back of tv off and power tv on..there is a switch that needs to be made so i taped the switch down and then powered tv on and the tv powered on and osd menu looks great....

very odd...but im not sure why the person threw it in the trash..i found it in the side of road in the snow...its a beautifl tv and in excellent condition...maybe it has long term issues?? or intermittent??? all i know is it piowers on fine right now

will hook up a dvd player to it and see if it actually functions for a while

Good to here it works, It may have had an intermitint fault or the guy was just getting rid of it, who knows... Sometimes when the "trap switch" has been activated you must go through a reset procedure to make the tv/monitor work, It does'nt seem to apply in this case.

Re: Pioneer pro 800HDI plasma tv powers on and off immediately

I had to go through a reset procedure to enable the power button due to back off switch thatbwas triggered when i removed back of tv...the serv manual helped out a lot..without it i would have not known about the back off switch....have never seen that on any other tv i have messed with

But yes tv seems to actually work fine....i cant test since it doesnt have standard rca av inputs....it has some odd looking connectors..and itvdoes have hdmi but my dvd player isnt hdmi so....

Who knows why he threw it in trash but he just, said it didnt work....not sure what that means ....but itbdoes power on and has osd menu

Will test if i ever get a hdmi video source

Maybe the tv got a weird fault and just needed to be reset/cleared?

It was a tv video, store that threw it out in the snow.....lucky i got it before it sat too long in snow and got damaged permanently

Does this plasma have any value?

What i can say is that its nice to know the fault blinking codes actually worked and pointed me in the right direction twice.....once during the condensation fault and once on the microprocessor fault

Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

                                          Thank you

I love working on plasma TVs.
Its been a while but I was lucky enough to find 2 this week.

The TV powers on and stays on but no picture. Havent checked for sound yet.
No bulging caps although the insides are pretty dusty and the boards are discolored from many years of high heat.
                                          Will start troubleshooting tonight.

Hitachi 55HDX99 Plasma Powers on but no picture

Hey guys, I recently acquired a Hitachi 55HDX99 plasma TV that doesn't work. The TV powers on and eventually goes into standby which is indicated by the blue power led changing to orange. If I plug a VCR into it to keep it awake, I can feed an audio source in and it will play the sound no problem. The volume controls on the TV work as well so it is obviously just a display problem.

I found the Hitachi service manual online which is also hosted on tom66's manual archive. Compared to the Panasonic service manual I had for the last plasma I worked on, this one is underwhelming to say...

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
                                          by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...

                                          Hello all,

I'm stumped on this guy, so wanted to see if anyone has any further ideas:

                                          Intro:

This is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 with unknown prior history (bought "as-is" on eBay). It charges the battery and powers on from both AC adapter and battery, so I think this rules out main power issues.

Upon attempt to boot, it will "reboot" (meaning powers down and then powers on again) only once, and then stays stuck in a status of lights on / no post / no monitor. Powering on with fn+esc maxes out the fans on first boot attempt,...
