    Samsung un75ju7100fxza won't turn on

    Hello badcaps.

I was given a Samsung un75ju7100fxza that doesn't turn on however the red light on the bottom of the TV stays on and blinks when I try to power it on. A little background info on this TV might help, the ground on the power cord was removed so that it can be plugged into a extension cord that didn't support 3 prongs.

Unplug the TV, remove the main board from the PSU, then plug the TV into mains. When you do this, the PSU should come on and the backlights should be light.

How good and comfortable are you dealing with power supplies? Do you have tools?

The primary (HV) side of the PSU is where you really have to be careful in. There is high voltage like 400V DC there. Turn the TV on and see what DC V you get on the main filter capacitor. Any voltage you measure in the PRIMARY after the bridge rectifier, the negative of the main filter capacitor is where your negative probe lead goes.
