Wow... where do you take them??

i buy them all up locally for pennies and strip them for the parts which i use to help me work out whats wrong with faulty tv's (im quite new to repairing tv's)

OP, you got a good picture then it disappeared... wth!!!! :-(
I would say you are close then. One question, when the picture happened to be good, what was the input?

Input was with aeriel, have found each time tv boots up the bad half of screen has a tint, sometimes green, sometimes purple etc, occasionaly but not often bad half of picture is near perfect, but not perfect

You need to try other inputs and signal types.

will try later to connect from hdmi, may be awkward as i do not have a remote for this tv, dont want to buy one if i can not get the tv working, unless i have to

just took this pictures over a period of three or four minutes, each one was taken on powering up the tv, switching off and powering up again each time a diffent tint on the bad side of the screen

Not tried any other inputs I just tried ps4 via hdmi but tv is not switching to hdmi so looks like I need a remote to change source, tried several lg remotes I have but none working this tv, (except for power on off), looks like I will have to get a remote for this tv to change its source

The tint evindently depends on the picture content..

a quick look at the manual appears to indicate you just need an app to control the set.

An hint to get replica remotes at lower prices, search on ebay the remote with the tv model followed by remote, then view some of the results, in some of them there are the remote code, model, then search for that code.. i usually pay them 10 euro with a good replicas...

i have ordered a remote for this tv, so when i get it will try other source, factory reset, update etc.

Did you try that mobile phone app i posted in post 54 its helped me a few times when i didnt have a lg remote

looked at the app but did not try it looked like I had to pair the tv with the app via wifi settings on the tv, can not access any tv settings at the moment
remote I have ordered has been posted first class so should have it tomorrow all being well
