    LJ92-01511A Power Supply

Can't seem to find this supply .... We had a TV come in .. a Phillips 50PFP5332D and the supply had many bad caps. We had another model the same so we pulled the board and put it in ... FIXED.

However, the rookie tech (my son) was putting the screws back in the power supply with the TV ON! He said he touched the screw driver to the rectifiers' heatsink when screwing one of the screws and it popped. It blew a fuse and not sure what else.

So now I have 2 bad boards and would like to make one good working board. I'm hoping it's something simple but can't seems to find a faulty component.

I'm getting no voltage at the filter cap so I turned over the board and tested for voltage at the bridge rectifiers. I do not get 120v at the AV nor do I get any DC voltage coming out. I have tested both rectifiers with the diode setting on my DMM and it appears they are working correctly.

At this point I'm not sure what to test.

The first pictures I'm posting are my almost "good" board and the last two are from shopjimmy so you can see the markings more clear.

    Thanks,

p.s. I do see the bad cap at DC8410 but I would need to get the primary side working first before I cared to replace that one.

At least one cap has domed top, it's on the right side of the board.
You will not get DCV on the large main cap until the PS-ON relays are on, they are turned on by the PS-ON signal from the main board.
    Do you have standby Voltage?

      Yes I have standby ... 5v

So change the cap and try again? My tech thinks that the cap swole after he touched the screwdriver to the heat sink and popped the fuse.

The bad cap is on the cold side, so no nothing to do with the primary side.
It already has one bad cap on the cold side so more likely the caps in the same section should have the ESR and the capacitance checked out. Bad caps can LOOK NORMAL.
So monitor the PS-ON pin when the TV is OFF and when the power switch is activated, you need to see if it changes state at all.
You should hear the two power relays click in sync with the PS-ON state.
