    Re: Constant fuse blowing

OK, I am going to do that on this group of 3. I tested the other groups of mosfets in circuit and they all had very like readings. The group of 4 all measured about 481 the group of 2 measured 284.
Also, I watched a video on how to test the bridge rectifier in Diode mode (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqkT6hF0O3E) it shows that I should be getting no measurement on most if not all pins. I get a measurement on every pin.
I will pull the mosfets and post back the results.

    Thanks

      test results with mosfets out

      Left - 0.0
      Middle - 0.0
Right - OL on the cheap multimeter, no read on upper end meter
Left and right chip are a Magnachip 60R360P
Middle chip is auk ck617 sf10a600HPI

Show us pictures how you orient the body of the MOSFET to count those pins.
So far it looks like it is shorted.
You should look up the spec sheet so you will know what pin is for each leg: Source, Drain, and Gate.

If I am right on the two of them it goes source, drain and gate from right to left.
But this page has 2 pictures that seem to conflict each other on that

I still havn't found the AUK one yet. I will post 3 pictures the afternoon.

          Thanks

The two devices (MAGNA) on the outside are MOSFET, the middle one (Dual-diode Common Cathode) is the PFC diode.

                    Re: Constant fuse blowing

Thanks! That is the one that looked to me to have possibly heat damage to the board. Now, is there another test I need to do since this is not a mosfet but it's a diode. Or do I need to move to another part of the board?

                    Thanks again

                      Re: Constant fuse blowing

So the two MOSFETs tested BAD per your pictures per post 27, so the PFC IC may be damaged also. I would replace both MOSFETs and the IC at the same time.
The dual diode should test like two diodes, Cathode is the middle pin.

                          Re: Constant fuse blowing

OK, I am back sorry for the delay, but I own a computer repair shop and had a lot of catchup to do. So from what I am reading, I need the both mosfets and the PFC in the middle. I have ordered from Digikey in the past for these type of things and would like to again if possible. I should be able to hunt down the mosfets I believe because the make/model is quite clear on them. As far as the PFC I am still unclear. I know I will need another ceramic fuse also and a slo-blo has been suggested to me but I am going with all I read on here.

                          Thanks again
