took it apart to see what was lighting it...seems to be ok...they all lit up...checked the caps on the board..there ok...

I thought post #1 said they came on then went off. It may be worth your while checking that all the tubes are firmly held in their end connectors while you have it open. Also although it does not show in the photo, are any of the tubes dimmer than the others.

Is the larger IC on the inverter board an OZ9972BN

I believe it to be somewhere in the order of 1200V to 2500V AC so do not use your multimeter or you will be purchasing a new one.

well im leaning towards a new inverter board..i did find one ..the exact same numbers on the board..but its from a kdl-32l5000 model.threre are green boards and blue boards..one was made in 2008..and one in 2009..mine is green...im guessing it should be ok....

If you solder a 10K resistor across C014 carefully without losing the capacitor, then do the lamps stay on.

This was posted on another forum as a quick check to see if there was a CCFL tube problem, however I've never tried it.

The idea behind it is that if there is a faulty lamp it forces the inverter to stay on.

However it is only intended to be a quick test to establish if any of the tubes are faulty.

Yes well worth checking those out first and compare the resistance readings to each other. If memory serves me correctly there should no more than 3% difference in the readings.

put my meter to 60k..tested the bottom transformer..was 0.68..tested the top one..was 0.69......the small single one was 0.01...

Move your meter down to a lower resistance setting so that it reads ohms not Kohms

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                                by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

2 red blink code on old led tv Sony KDL-40W2000
                                by reporter1979
Hi all, the TV KDL-40W2000 was flashed by a lightning.
Firstly I got the 3 red blink code.

Following other threads I changed the power supply board and got always 3 blinks.
So I changed also the mainboard and now I get 2 blinks error code. Tried also with the other ps board, still getting 2 blinks.

The TV turns on for a minute or two with green led and blank screen, if I press buttons the green led blinks fast. It turns to 2 red blinking led after a while.
                                What else can I do?...

                                Hi,
I have this set. It turns on and is watchable for a few minutes but then shuts off and flashes 4 red lights.

I don't work on Sony much but assumed it was backlights from what I read.

Opened up the TV and tested all the backlights with led tester and the all work.

I know sometimes that doesn't mean anything since it's not running at full current but I hate to spend $120 on backlights (shopjimmy) is the only one that even has them just to find out I missed something.

So anyway to test these lights similar to the way we test...

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...
