Philips 52PFL5605H no power fixed by replacing R106

Philips 52PFL5605H LED TV with FSP190-3MS01 power supply board.

No power at all, 3.3V standby missing.
0V on the secondary, 325V on the primary cap.

So we start by looking at the 3.3V controller IC, part number STR-A6069H.
325V on the D/ST pin, but the IC is not switching. VCC pin voltage is oscillating between 9V and 13V. BR pin is oscillating between 1.8V and 2V.

Looking at the datasheet, we can see that the brown-out threshold on BR pin is 4.8V, and we have a voltage much lower than that. Checking the typical application circuit, we can see that this voltage comes from a resistor voltage divider. Either one of the resistor is bad, or the IC is bad.

Following the traces on the backside of the motherboard, we encounter a set of resistors and start measuring them. It turns out that one of them, R106, has gone bad. Its color code indicates a 2.2 megaohms resistor, but it is measuring around 50 megaohms. After replacing it with 2*1 megaohms, the 3.3V standby is back and the TV is fully working again. BR pin is now a little above 6V.

Took me 2 hours to figure that out because I never suspected this resistor, a small axial resistor which looked perfectly fine.

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Samsung UN55NU7300F Curved TV. Half side backlight out. Fixed by just removing the rear snap cover
      by howardc64
TV was fixed just after removing Samsung's rear snap cover.

This curved TV's construction is rather interesting. When the snapped on back is removed, rest of the TV will relax the curvature. Top of LCD panel is loose as it wants to straighten out against the slightly curved bezel. Snapped back provide most of the curvature shape. So just simple disassembly of rear cover will allow the rest of the TV frame to relax its curvature. Thats probably what fixed it but no idea which connection. 4x LEDs are edge lit.

Maybe PSU->backlight connector didn't have a good contact?...

Philips 43PUS7506/12 - Loud blown out sound
      by aidanmo
      Hello,

I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.
      • Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
      • Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
      • Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar

      So I stupidly volunteered to fix a friend's TV, a Phillips 43PUS6401/12

I have previously fixed TV's before , even replacing cathode rays , not a fun task .. Typically the advent of subpar capacitors inside the early Samsung Flatscreens is the reason I originally registered here

However I digress , the Phillps TV was not switching on , no standby light nothing... So rightly or wrongly ( probably wrong ) I assumed the power board was dead , or a faulty power board .. Upon first inspection, I got the MultiBeeper on it , since I am aware of Ohms law , I checked the regular...

Philips 50PUH6400 bad color and gosting / slow motion on one side
      by Cornito
      Hello Team,

New issue on LCD panel where I need to find out the cause and the potential solution.
This is on the Philips 50PUH6400, the LCD panel is an INNOLUX V500dk2 xrs1.

I have image, on the right side, the image is more or less normal even if there is a small blur on edge, on the left there is an issue.
When moving up and down in the menu on the right the image is slow to disappear, and is darker, like red/brown.

I've checked voltages, no issue found comparing right and left side of the panel driver.
VHG VGL CKV... are the sames on...
