LG 42LF561V panel defect

I have just had this set come through, failure just outside warranty and I am told from the customer insurance wont cover it.

It has a single line across the lower portion of the panel, I assume this is not going to be salvageable, the line does not seem to respond to touch or pressure either to the bezel or the stripped panel.
