    Samsung LN-T4661FX vertical lines??

    Hi
I got this LCD and it powers up properly, but as you can see in the picture and the video attached, it's got vertical lines across all the screen and some flickering.
I took the tv apart checked and cleaned up all the LVDS cable, all the ribbons, but no result.
i also did quick voltage check and i didn't see any abnormalities ...
i'm not sure if the problem is coming from the Tcon or the mainboard.
did someone had this problem before?any of your input will be much appreciated.

    thanks

I think you have a picture test you can use. Have you tried that?

I had access to service menu, but i couldn't find a test pattern.
I think the problem is coming from the mainboard, because i've found some high ESR electrolytic caps, replaced 5 of them, i still got the same problem ( maybe the picture is slightly better). Now, i have to desolder the can to have access to other some capacitors.
i'm quite sure there a lot of bad caps in the mainboard, because the first time i took it apart i found a lot of sticky liquid in the bottom of it.

Isn't vertical stripes "always" the panel that is failing? What happens when you squeeze in the top side of the bezel? Or apply a little pressure on the tabs.....

No expert but I thought if they are in a pattern across entire screen maybe main or t-con. Speaking of expert could you have a look at my TC-42P post and chime in. Would greatly appreciate it.

Looking at video there are some clues in that lines do not appear to traverse menu panel and they increase in intensity from left to right with a slight pulsing. My thoughts are electro interference by say capacitor discharging to earth. And a wild one - is correct a.c. cord being used.

Thanks maxvalutech for your input.Regarding the AC cord i use correct one( with earth pin)
can that capacitor be in the power supply or mainboard? As said earlier i've replaced a dozen of electrolytic caps on the mainboard with no luck.
yesterday, i disconnected the LVDS cable from the tcon board, powered on the tv, all i've got is black screen, but with some flickering, maybe due to that cap you're talking about.
now the big question, how can i find this bad cap?

Try moving around the LVDS connector while the TV is playing something on screen and see if that makes a change. If that does not, try pressing on the one of the heat sinks on the main board and see if that makes any changes on screen. If it does not go to the next heat sink until you have tried all three. I am thinking either bad LVDS or bad main board on this one.

I'd say bad main, could be BGA issues.

Horizontal lines means a bad panel, no vertical lines as far as i know.
nothing happens when i touch the LVDS cable neither the ribbons or the circuit heat sinks as Nick's Tvs suggested

Horizontal lines are usually board problem.

Vertical lines is t-con or panel on a LCD/LED tv. I would apply some pressure on the tabs and see what happens because i had the SAME problem on a Philips lcd which turned out to be a bad panel. ( tab bonding problem ).

Can you squeeze the bezel and see if something changes?

Lines can also be a BGA issue with the processor on the mainboard.
I've reballed both LG and Samsung mainboards.

Main boards are a pain to work on, I'd grab a main board, if you get a good deal and it's not defective, you can always resell the board. I spent a month on and off messing with my sammy, gave up bought a main board and BAM fixed it, your results may vary of course, good luck.

Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

                                          Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...
