Philips 42PFL9603H/10 Q529.1E Not powering on

    Hello all,
I got this old LCD TV for free the other day. It does not power on.
When I plug the power cable to the TV it makes a short chirp noise that comes from the area around top/middle left-hand side on the power supply board and the speakers make a popping sound. On the front the LED-bar blinks/pulsates in white color 7 times before the TV shuts down completely.

Upon first inspection I can't see any leaking or bulging caps, I took the power supply board out and re-soldered the points on the transformer but it didn't have any effect.

Any pointers to what to check next? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Read some other threads where the OP replaced capacitor 2165 and 2179 and it powers on as it should. but I don't know if this is the same fault.

I can take more and/or better pictures if needed

Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
    Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
    1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
    2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
    3 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
    4 - etc.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

These are only marked "IM95" (top connector) and "IM99". No values printed on power supply board or main board

I have measured them from the top down so the red wire is number 11 and 8

      IM95:
      1 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12.4v
      2 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 0v
      3 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12.4v
      4 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12.0v
      5 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12.1v
      6 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12.0v
      7 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 0v
      8 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 0v
      9 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 0v
      10 - Voltage standby: 2.26v Voltage ON: 0v
      11 - Voltage standby: 3.13v Voltage ON: 3.3v

      IM99:
      1 - Voltage standby: 0.06v Voltage ON: 0v
      2 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 3.2v
      3 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 3.5v
      4 - Voltage standby: 0.14v Voltage ON: 0.13v
      5 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 0v
      6 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 0v
      7 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12v
      8 - Voltage standby: 0v Voltage ON: 12v

          Hello,
Yes, I did. I don't know if I have the same fault as this one since I don't seem to have a red LED when I connect the power to the TV. I only have the white LED that blinks/pulsates 7 times. I think I will have to just try to order those caps marked 2165 and 2179 and try to change them and see

Pin legends might be on back of boards. You can measure there capacity 2165 and 2179

I checked the back of the boards as well, they are only marked IM95 and IM99 on both boards I have ordered the caps now, so I will change them and see if it makes any difference

As a test, you might try heating up capacitors 2165 and 2179 with a hair dryer to see if it brings the set back to life.

I changed capacitor 2165 and 2179 with 47nF and 100nF and now the tv works again Thanks everyone

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

                          Hello,
I have a problem with this TV, the standby voltage is not present. I have checked the components around the IC fsq510's area and they seem to work, also replaced this IC but the problem persists.
These are the voltages in some pins of IC fsq510:
                          Vcc=18v
                          D=320v
                          Vstr=154v
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the schematic
                          What else could I check?
Is it possible to provide standby voltage from an external source to allow the TV to turn on?
                          Thank you...

I have no standby indicator light and no light on the optical port. I checked the standby voltage on the two mosfets in the top left and they both read 30mV. I checked the fuse and it has continuity. I also checked the voltage on the two large 450v caps they both read 153v. All of these voltages are the same with and without the main board connected as well as with backlights connected/disconnected.

Nothing looks obvious like a burned ceramic disc cap or bulged electrolytic. No burned resistors, diodes, or anything like that....

An Asus GL503GE laptop arrived that had had a screw dropped on the motherboard while the battery was connected. This resulted in a physical damage to the 3.3v / 5v voltage controller RT6575DGQW (pu28 on schematic, page 40). Additionally, the trace to pin 12 (VIN 19v supply) was burnt.

Replaced the RT6575DGQW with a new one, repaired the damaged trace. Only getting 0.7V instead of the expected 3.3v standby voltage (3V_S5 on schematic).

Replaced the AON7408 PQ60 mosfet from a donor board as resistance was low on the gate (I did not write this value down, as I optimistically...

                          Hello,

I am trying to re-purpose this power supply that I saved years ago from a tv with a cracked screen for a monitor but that is not really that relevent at the moment. I do not recall which tv but a google search looks like it is from Wharfedale LTF37K1.

You may notice I made some alterations moving some components to the top and some wires which are from a 5v regulator I fitted to the 12v output as the monitor requires 5v. The standby was already at fault from the beginning, it has nothing to do with the alterations...

Years ago it had some bulging caps...
