    Hitachi P50H4011

    HI
Someone gave me away a Hitachi P50H4011 plasma tv which has a problem. The tv doesnt power on by remote.the only way to turn it on is with an overide button hidden in the buttom of the tv.when i push on the button (physical button with a spring) the tv comes on and all i can see is snowy picture ( static) no menu or whatsoever.
i took the tv apart and i saw to bodging caps 3300 uF( the two big caps on the right hand side of the power supply),before i measure any voltage i tried to check their capacitance and ESR, so took them out and i found their value is around 2800 uF ( within the 10% of tolerance ) also the ESR was good around 0.11ohm.( i used a cheap chinese component tester to measure the ESR).
Because i don't have these capacitor value i tried to solder them back and measured all the voltages and i was surprise to find them all without any problem, but the power supply stop working for 5 seconds ( voltages become zeo and picture becomes black) and the cycle repeats.
i checked all the diodes, mosfet's and they seems to be good.beside the power supply intermittent problem, i'm wondering why i have the snowy picture, but no menu on the tv.
can someone tell me came across to this type of problem.

I would be replacing the two caps. I would think the button is override to ignore trouble codes. So you are forcing it on in spite of problems
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

not sure if these can jumped on with the test patterns with the control board, but that would let you know if all of the other boards are working correctly.

if you post a pic of the control board, someone will be able to tell you if it can be done.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

That appears to be a Main Bd problem to me.

            Hi guys
I took a little break from this TV, i decided to fix it.I plugged the tv and it powers on like usual with the snowy picture.I tried to check the if there's any signal in the PDP module ( see first PDF attached), when i put the oscilloscope probe on the main IC chip, all of the sudden i lost picture and all the voltages on power board.I didn't see any burn or spark on the chip. I lost all the voltages on the power supply expect the 5V and 3.3V stbty voltages.Today i received the two big 3300uF 100V caps.replaced them.No luck the same problem discribed above.
I took out the power board and checked it and nothing seems wrong ( Diodes, Mosfets..)
I tried to follow the troubleshooting flow chart ( see pdf 2).
this is the voltages i found on the CN68 connector:
            Pin1-5.3V
            Pin2-0V
            Pin3-3.3V
            Pin4-0V
            Pin5-0V
            Pin6-5V-----Power1
            Pin7-0V----Power2
            Pin8-NC
they say if Power1 is high---the 5V output the CNPPS connector should go on.( in my case all theCNPPS connector is showing 0V).
if Power2 is high he 10V output the CNPPS connector should go on.in my case power2 is always 0.
According to the troubleshooting note, they say if either power1 or power2 is low, you may check the Main digital PWD.
I'm leaning toward the Main Digital PWD, but i want to know what do you think guys?

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound
              by KYBOSH
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
              by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

              Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

              First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
              by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

              Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
              by TR103
              Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
              - sound and backlight, but no picture
              - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
              - it keeps rebooting
              - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
              - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

HITACHI 55HK6T64U Picture ghosting and jumping
              by JackUzi
              Hi all,

First post so please bear with

So I found a similar issue on another thread but have been advised to open a new one so here it is.

One day this TV started doing this:

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42QlTOSOCjw

This happens on all inputs and menu screens.

Thank you to nomoresonys for previous advice - to check voltage on powerboard connector and possible loose/bad tab bond.

I've opened it up and tried reseating all the ribbon connections but the problem remains. I need some support in testing...
