Salora 32LED8115CDW switches on and off.

    Hi there,

this is again a cheap Vestel tv with build in DVD. Problem is, that there is a 17ips19-5 power supply fitted in, and it switches off and on. Backlight is coming up also.
The former fault was that it could take a day to switch on, but then it worked.
Having read a Dutch forum, I replaced D318, D319 and D320 with new diodes (SB5100), but now the tv switchs off and on repeatedly.
Having read some postings here, I took the power supply apart and I could measure 12 volt (D318/D219/D320 at the kathode) and +24 volt (the remaining 3 diodes, allthough one of them is fitted in the lower right corner). They seem to stay (if I should measure longer please tell me).
During the first startup I saw the text "no signal at HDMI1/HDMI2" (in Dutch). So there is also data flowing if it works.
    Any ideas?
P.S. I'm not a native English speaker, improvements about my spelling will be appreciated.

try dissconecting the dvd player and see if the set will start also try freezing the eeprom ic on the mainboard and see if the set starts up ok also on the mainboard there are a few voltage regulators maybe worth checking the voltages on them i have had a minboard with this part number fail and it was a eeprom fault but i did also have a flashing standby light does you flash at all?

Yes there is a blue led at the front flashing as well. Can I download some boot or firmware from the vesteldriver page? How to navigate? Or should I contact Salora?

This thread maybe worth a read and trying the core update (youtube video link) it also has a schematic too test all of the psu voltages

Oops. From what I see is that wioth a lopt of NVM cooling you can do a core update. But...this is a tv equipped with a DVD player also. Does it work with this core update?

i think there two ics you need to freeze at the same time its ages since i done one too be honest but the video does show it all and if freezing the ics it does prove its a mainboard fault not the psu and im honestly not sure with a dvd player maybe when reece sees this thread he will advise you can also buy the firmware for the exact tv of the internet or the only other option is too buy a replacement mainbpoard just make sure it matches the lcd panel used and has a dvd player etc

Where can I buy the exact software?
I hope to meet this reece here...maybe he can advice me in this. I am not sure IF the DVD plays a role in boot/core software, but it's better to be safe.

I have good picture and sound...for 5 seconds. This morning the tv stayed on for some time...I hope someone can recognize the boot loader ans software I need or is it another problem? I will freeze my memory chips again later to see if that's the cause.

Did you freeze eeproms to get tv to turn on?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

It's true. With cold spray my tv stays on and will stay on. A single treatment does the job. I put also soms flux on the NVM chips and did a resolder/reflow attempt (In the oven 200°C/10 minutes) without success.

some people have had sucess when they buy two new ics then remove the old one freeze it whilst in a programmer read data quick then write too new ic and replace on the mainboard.

A picture tells more then a thousand words, a move tells maybe more then tenthousand words. A very good and explaining video. If someone at this forum will have such great programming hardware please drop me a line.
