I have a Sharp LC-60E78UN and here's what I've done:
Had a bad power supply (no standby) and found a cheap one on ebay. Now with the good supply, I am getting blink codes OPC/Power one blink, Power two blinks and then it repeats the cycle.
The power supply tries to turn on before I get the blink codes. If I force the power supply on with a 1k resistor between pin 11 labeled BU5V on main ps connector and both the PS_ON and PNL_POW, I get good voltages but NO BACKLIGHT. Here are the voltages:
LA1
Pin 1-5 INV24V1 24.43
Pin 6-10 SGND3 0
LA2
Pin 1-5 INV24V1 24.43
Pin 6-10 SGND3 0
PD
Pin
1 S14.3V - 14.34
2 S14.3V - 14.34
3 UR14.3V - 14.34
4 UR14.3V - 14.34
5 SGND5 - 0
6 SGND5 - 0
7 SGND - 0
8 SGND - 0
9 AC_DET - 3.2
10 PS_ON - 4.6
11 BU5V - 5.03
12 PNL_POW - 4.6
PL
1 PNL12V - 11.99
2 PNL12V - 11.99
3 SGND - 0
4 SGND - 0
I checked the transformers on the inverters. All are 6.3k +/- 2%.
So I'm leaning towards the main but don't have the schematics.
On a side note, is anyone else having a problem searching the forums posts? I will search for a part or tv model and I get way more results than I used to. Maybe I have a setting wrong of something.
