Emerson LF501EM4 Green Screen

Picked this up last week. Wouldn't power on at all. Power board tested all good so I replaced the main board. It did turn on, but all green pixels are lit up. It effects the menus as well. This model has an integrated T-Con which is a bummer.

Just wanted to gauge opinions on if the T-Con is shot or maybe I got a faulty main (from ShopJimmy).

Check through your settings. Advanced settings? Panel options or something may correct issue

Yeah I thought maybe something was cranked all the way up in it, but none of the settings changed the picture. Looking at the screen close up, every single column of green pixels is lit up.

I would clean and reseat ribbon cables.

Cleaned ribbons with alcohol and reseated cables, still throwing up the green screen.

Did you order an exact replacement using the numbers on the white sticker on the original main board or did you use the stamped numbers? There are many Emerson TVs that use versions of this board including at least 3 different 50" ones. It looks to me like the replacement doesn't match the panel.

Please post a picture of the original and replacement.

Yep I think this is right. ShopJimmy just sent me the wrong board. Working on exchanging it now.

Hmmmm. I'm interested to see what happens with the replacement. The one they sent you is for the Magnavox version of this TV, but it does have the same panel. I would think that it should have functioned other than the remote but who knows. Of course, the board may have also been defective. Double check your LVDS cable for damaged contacts in the mean time.

New main board came in yesterday and everything works as it should.
