Troubleshooting differential
Under the "Meaning/Related" fault for a balancer error, it says "Balancer error/PANEL_DET (PMUX6.7) to low level, between 2.48V and 0.83V." I searched the rest of the manual for PANEL_DET, but didn't find much except for some tiny references to it on the schematics. What exactly does PANEL_DET (defined as "panel detect" in some literature online) do?

Re: Sony KDL-32S3000 LCD 2 Blinks Error code
Disconnect the cable from the PSU to the Inverter bd and power-up the TV. If it is the Inverter Bd that was causing the problem then the 24V should remain on and the ' 2-blink' should stop also, confirming the Inverter Bd as faulty.Leave a comment:

Re: Intersection of Troubleshooting
could be the mainboard too not sending the voltages to the inverter board i wonder if you can force on the psu and check all voltages are correct is there any writing on the underside of the psu by the connectors to tell us what each pin does etcLeave a comment:

Inverter Fuzes test good
Is that the same one as in the service guide?Leave a comment:

I would lift the cover from the inverter board and check that none of the fuses have blown.Leave a comment:

CN6402 is MIA
I don't know. I don't see a CN6402 connector anywhere in this thing. Some of the connectors on the power board do tell what they're supposed to be carrying, but none of them contain the BAL_ERR, INV_ERR, BACKLIGHT, or DIMMER_PWM that are supposed to be on CN6402. None of the connectors on the power supply are registering much of anything at all, strangely enough.Leave a comment:

Intersection of Troubleshooting
So, given the symptoms, is it a reasonable assumption that we're looking at either a bad power supply or a bad inverter? If so, what would be the best way to narrow it down to find out exactly?Leave a comment:

Re: Sony KDL-32S3000 LCD 2 Blinks Error code
No balancer board in this model, only the inverter board.
Do you notice that the backlights even come on for seconds?
Can we see where you get that error code from that indicated it is Balancer error?Leave a comment:

Balancer may have to do with inverter/backlightsLeave a comment:

Sony KDL-32S3000 LCD 2 Blinks Error code
I'm working on this Sony Bravia LCD and was wondering if anybody has any ideas as to how to figure out what the problem is. What happens is that when the power button is pressed, I hear the relay click and the power light comes on, but nothing happens for a few seconds. After that, the power light comes off and the "STANDBY" light blinks twice repeatedly. No backlight, no video at any time in the process.
According to the service guide, two blinks indicates a "balancer error." Now, I'm not that familiar with Sony products, but I am familiar enough to know that, like Apple, they have their own proprietary names for things, so I guess the question is, what is the "balancer," first of all, and how can I diagnose it?
In the only other thread that BadCaps has published on the issue, it was suggested by one person that this is likely to be a GH1 board. If "GH1" equals G1H, then that looks to be the power supply. Is the power supply the "balancer?"Tags: None

by AK_777Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.
Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and... -
by jchonHi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.
I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html
With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.
Unfortunately the 5-blinks... -
by NicktronicHi all,
I have the subject TV and it will work normally sometimes but suddenly go black and give the 2 red blinks blink code. When this happens, I check the power supply board voltages and all I have is the Standby 3.3V and BL_ERR 2.2V. When it's working normally, all power supply board voltages look normal and stable. I've checked the backlights with a tester and they all test good. I've also read that the 2 red blinks is a faulty power supply board, so could it be throwing up an erroneous BL_ERR?
Any Sony experts out there that can help??... -
by dumbddI was using this TV for 5 years before it stopped working. I like this TV and would love to fix it myself.*
When I press the power button, the white led comes on (sony calls the module smart core) and then it switches over to 5 red blinks. No screen, no backlight, no relay click, nothing. I have disassembled the tv and found the service manual for 75x940e online. The manual suggests a faulty power board, TCON or the panel.**
The standby pin is at 3.3V. Fuses on the mainboard and TCON are fine. Caps on TCON also seem to be fine. When I turn on the tv the white led... -
by NicktronicHey guys, got this Sony that turns on momentarily and then goes black with 4 blinks of the standby light. I can't find a service manual, but best guess was the Local Dimming board based on a similar TV saying LD_ERR or BCM_ERR. I found a replacement, but it didn't work. Before I put more money into replacement boards, Im wondering if anybody has seen this issue and what worked for them, or has the service manual for this specific TV.
Thanks!... - Loading...
