Re: IQ SMART TV 22" weird problem
Hello all,
I have a very strange problem with a TV. It works fine for several days and one day without any notification it just doesnt turn on. It shows a red light which is standby light and it doesnt turn on. I hear a strang wisssssss sound from the board.
If I unplug it from power and leave it several hours some times it works again and some times it shutdown even the red standby light.
I am attaching an image of the boardLeave a comment:

Re: IQ SMART TV 22" weird problem
The other board seems ok, I hear the weird sound from the power board and louder near the power cable which comes from power outlet.
I attach the other side board and the second board. I also attached the capacitor above two browns. I dont know how it is called.
Also in the rear view of the board I marked the components that I have changed so far.Leave a comment:

Also, check caps on other boards as well, doesn't always have to be the power board that's the problem.
Could you upload pics of the other boards as well please?
Also, the cap above the two brown ones on the right side of the picture, what brand is that? The printing on it looks extremely low quality, could be a crap cap.
One more thing, please upload some pictures of under the heatsinks on the board, would love to see what's under. Could be a cap hidden under one of those that's bulged.
Also, be careful of the high voltage caps, that shit is no joke.Leave a comment:

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by huj3rHi there!
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.
Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:
After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.
I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:
> This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication... -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...-
