technika 46-270 wont power on

Got this one in the other day as suspected the eprom u10 issue however I have managed to get it to power on, now my question is can I get a factory reset to sort the issue or is it a new eprom/ rep board. obviously after a long term fix.

Managed to get it to power on? So do you mean you had sound and picture.

Have you measured the voltages on the power supply outputs when it fails to switch on normally? There could be a problem there.

ye I got it on after some persistence psb measures fine to voltages listed. eeprom change it is then cheers Dick just wasn't sure if the eeprom would correct its self with a factory reset or if the eeprom its self was just trash. I'll switch that out just to be safe cheers for the reply mate.

if you have a eeprom programmer some times you can freeze the ic and re write the data onto a new ic and all is fine then.

If you have managed to get it working, then as Vinceroger69 says that you can sometimes freeze the IC and successfully read it and then program a blank IC. Programmers are cheap on Ebay

the mainn thing is does freezing/heating the eeprom make the set work? if so you maybe able too get a new ic and copy the data on too it

cheers vince will give it a whirl not done one before but that's what im here for to learn the cheaper fixes and ye I can freeze it and it comes on.
