TNPA5153 keep shorting

Hi,

I have a Panasonic TC-P50S30 that I am trying to repair. It had a short in at the SC board so I replaced 30F131 FETS. Still 14 Blinks and the board was shorted out again. Ordered a full compliment of FETS, Diodes, IGBT's and Transistors and replaced them all.

This time when I plugged it in, I got a solid red power light and then a few seconds later a loud pop, and smoke. I couldn't determine where exactly it came from and nothing looked exactly blown. The board is, of course, shorted again.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong or what I can check?

Look under advanced search for threads about TNPA5351AM.
Read them all, and you will solve this.

Well, the only thing that seems to apply to my situation would be a arc at the grounding screws. Seemed like they were all down tight when I reinstalled the board.

I have since removed all the components I had previously installed but the board still shows up as only having 8.4 ohms resistance across 1 and 3 of SC2. That can't be right can it?

Fake parts maybe a factor too have you got links to the parts you brought?

Is the resistance reading across SC2 OK with the Mosfets, transistors, and diodes from this kit removed? I'm wondering there is something else shot on the board and if I shouldn't abandon ship at this point.

Are you talking about the TNPA5351?

The problem with this tv is that you probably received fake parts because you won't find real 30F131 on eBay. No repair kit besides GTV Watfort on eBay is reliable due to FAKE PARTS!

Remove all the 30F131 on the bottom row of the board near the capacitors and see if the short on other parts goes away.
Replace 30F131 and RJP30H2A for FGD4536TM. Search for 7 Panasonic 7 blink repair on this forum for replacement parts and advice.

The basics of these boards with parts are the same for the TNPA5330 etc.

The loud pop came from the SC board , you probably will see a black burn mark somewhere on the trace coming from SC2 connector. ( Follow the trace which is going to the fets )

Yes, it is a 5351. I have removed all of the 30F131's plus a bunch of other parts I replaced and still have a short. No burn mark near SC2 connector.

Sounds to me like I might have toasted the board.

You might want to check q661. A shorted buffer board will blow a sc board and usually takes out q661.

Also hopefully you installed the resistors that came with that kit as well. The resistors are very important to replace after the fets have blown

You received fake parts , only reason why the board is popping. Trust me , been in your situation before.

You won't find real 30F131 on eBay or anywhere else unless you get them directly from Panasonic/Toshiba.

So either get a working replacement board AND measure the buffer boards for shorts. Search this forum for "7 blinks" or TNPA5330/TNPA5335.
