Samsung older LCD main board problem

This is a BN94-02079G from a LN40A630M1FXZA. This board version is used in many different models in 2008 and 2009 including some plasmas, and there are like 200 different part #s for different TVs.

It appears this board was connected to a different model but similar model for testing, and now the remote control IR and keyboard button functions of the original TV no longer work.

I think plugging in the connector to a different IR board causes something to corrupt. Anyone have any input on this or a way to reset it without remote control function?

So what your saying is you replaced the mainboard and now remote and buttons don't work? Are your voltages changing when you press buttons?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

It seems to brick this function when a board is connected with a different wiring harness on the remote/IR/key button board connector .

Not sure if I'm making it clear enough, am I?

I am not connecting that connector for the buttons/IR on this test TV because of the problem it causes, it seems the wiring is different and causing the issue.

        Is this an eeprom issue?

how do you control the main board if you don't have any buttons and remote hooked up, in order to come to your conclusion?

If wiring is different then I would say it's wiring issue not eeprom

When connected to a different model it will work, but when it goes back into the old model it won't.

Compare the 2 control/IR Bds and see what their differences are and then determine if re-wiring your board is an option.

Some of the (a) series models use touch button and some use hard buttons. The layout of the main boards are different near the connector that goes to the ir board. Yes these (a) series boards all look close to the same but they are not all fully conpatiable due to the differences in inputs and trim versions. Hope this helps

If the wiring to both is the same would an eeprom reprogram work to change button styles?

                        I don't think so.

Re: Samsung older LCD main board problem

The problem is after it has gone into a different TV, it does not work in the original TV anymore, it loses all button and remote control function. So no way to do a factory reset or anything that I can figure out the remote working. Is there a way to reset the eeprom manually somehow?

To reset the EEPROM manually here are the steps (Do this at your own risk). I have done this many times before and had success.
                            1. Identify the EEPROM IC (24CXX)
                            2. Identify the Flash memory IC (25LXX)
                            3. Identify on the EEPROM IC the SDA and VCC pins
                            4. Connect a jumper across the SDA and VCC pins
                            5. Power ON the TV and hold for 20-25 sec
                            6. Break the jumper
                            7. Power OFF the TV

Powering ON the TV again should show a reset EEPROM.
                            GOOD LUCK!!

I've read this before somewhere for a different reason. What's the 24CXX and 25LXX, they don't seem to be on this board. (see photos)

24CXX is the eeprom IC number e.g. 24C64. Similarly with the 25LXX is the flash memory IC number e.g. 25L08

Can you ID those on this board?

They would be any of those 8 pin SMD SOP 8type ICs....I can't make out the Nos. of the ICs.

this video may help you locate the ic as your number is in the board listings
