    Sony KDL-55W800A forcing software update?

    Hi guys,

I have had a failure on the TV, and as such had to replace the mainboard. In every service / training manual I have looked at, it states that a software update is required when replacing either the mainboard, T-Con or LCD panel.

I have downloaded the latest firmware from the Sony website, ver PKG4.600GAA for the Australian region, but I don't know how to update the software as the TV won't turn on (the amber / green status LED flashes alternately, indicating a Panel ID issue)

Does anyone know a way that I can force the software update onto the TV?

Any help would be greatly appreciated =)

    Cheers

Only thing you can try is putting the firmware on the USB and put it in the tv. Remove the powercable and turn on the tv , it will hopefully install the firmware automatically.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

I am having the same issue on a KDL-70W850B, were you able to force the firmware? If so how, I have the same issue and it is pissing me off.
