Both ribbon cables are 60 pin, 85 mm length, and rated at 105C/60V. The only difference is the original is "halogen-free" and the replacement is not (see pictures below). I'm assuming the halogen-free effort only relates to disposal after the TV has expired, but has no bearing on function. Can someone please weigh-in and let me know if the two are interchangeable?

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
Anyone know if the ribbon cables are standard across laptops cases like in a PC, or are they proprietary to each manufacturer? I damaged the one that runs between the MB and the power / HDD / Battery Status Indicator LED Circuit Board. The Dell SKU/DPN: ADM70LED. I just need help finding a replacement. Could I possibly use a similar cable from a donor laptop?

by NWArkGuyWell, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...
In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.
I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.
I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ... -

by kcaHello all ~
I have this LG 50" plasma tv that is in perfect working condition except for the fact that it has one (and only one), singular torn ribbon strip on one (and only one) of the 8 orange ribbon connectors that feed from the Y-Sustain to the screen itself.
So, as a result, there is one, singular thin black horizontal line that goes across the entire screen. Distracting enough to render the picture unwatchable for all intents and purposes.
What I am wondering is if anyone out there has ever had any success in fixing one of these ribbon cables... - Loading...
