    LG 60PK590 mainboard ?

    I have a LG 60PK590 here.

On power on, the screen lights for a couple of seconds then dims but is still glowing.
All the voltages check out and when I jumper the two holes on the control board and power on the TV I get the test patterns.

This suggests the mainboard, its a EAX61141603(4)

Has anyone repaired one of these or similar ? any pointers ?
I've probed a points and there are voltages all over, the XD engine IC gets warm.

I have found a replacement board if needed but I always like to have a go a repairing first.

    Thanks.

Shit, still recovering from last night out. Replace mb then

Maybe reflow cpu or reflash the firmware.

Haha, no worries mate. I was thinking reflow last night but thought I'd ask anyway.
Yep, gave it a reflow and BINGO ! The TV is now working

That's weird, works fine with the back off. I put the back on and there is a strange double click of the relays and the TV does not come on.
I take the back off and it powers on fine, back on and double clicking....

Well, as I finally got round to fixing this I thought I'd post what happened.
I managed to catch one of the ribbon cables going to the screen.
5 traces cut meaning there was a black line all the way across.
Using single strands (0.15mm) from some mains cable, my iron set on 300c and my microscope I have managed to repair the traces.
I sanded back the ribbon to it revealed the copper, applied some flux and tinned the traces. I placed a small aluminium heatsink behind so I had something to press up against.
I tinned the copper wire and carefully soldered them on.
A dab of transformer resin sealed the work.

Glad you managed too fix the set thats a neat repair as the traces are so thin a lot of people say this type of ribbon repair cant be done but it just takes experience i guess and the right tools.

Thank you. It wasn't as hard as I imagined. Having a stereo microscope meant I could see what I was doing and as I was laying down with my hand on the floor it was nice and steady. I was concerned the flex might melt as I applied heat but it didn't.

I used a Bakon 950D and the small bent tip. Nothing special really.

I'd do another one again. It wasn't that hard once I realised the flex wasn't going to melt.
I might have a go at the 50PA650T i've had hanging about with the split flex cable.

@diif - I've got an LG 60PK590 (as quoted in your original post) that won't turn back on. Read a few posts on these forums about old LG plasma TV's suffering from this issue when they turn themselves off immediately after being turned on. The only way I can get the TV toi attempt to start up is if I leave it off overnight and then when I power it back on the mains you can hear the realy kick in but then immediately back off again and the TV is then totally unresponsive to the TV remote. I'm thinking it's either bad caps or power board failure - any ideas please or know of anyone in the Midlands that might be able to take a look at it? Thanks in advance

                                          Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
                                          On The TCON...

                                          Hi everyone,

I've got a little "problem child": my Dell Latitude 7420 2-in-1, which had a faulty mainboard.
I replaced it, but ever since, the touchscreen no longer works — and honestly, I’m running out of ideas…

In Windows Device Manager, I just see an I2C HID Device with error code 10. Sporadically, the touchscreen is recognized correctly for just a few seconds, but I haven’t been able to determine under which circumstances this happens.

The touchscreen also doesn’t work in UEFI/BIOS, although it’s enabled...

                                          Hi All,

                                          Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

Vizio M43-C1 - How closely do I need to match the mainboard number?

I have a Vizio M43-C1 stuck in a reboot loop with no backlight.

I've tested all the voltage rails coming out of the power supply and they are "normal" for this model (PS_ON & DIM go high when turned on, BL_ON & 3D_ON are close to zero due to backlight power flowing through the mainboard, 5VSB is 5V, and 12V is 19V, which is apparently normal for this board).

Basically, I get similar results to Garry in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80346

So, I've ruled out the PSU for now.

                                          The reboot loop...

                                          Hi

I have a QN65QN90A which was purchased around launch I guess making it about 1.5-2 years old... had been working fine until a few days ago, simply went black and would no longer turn on (at all). No standby light and no typical PSU relay click etc. Absolutely dead.

Pulled it apart without doing much research first, suspecting the power supply as it had a faint buzz (I guess due to the forthcoming found short), investigated PSU for some time and concluded there was no fault that I could spot with the board removed.

Came to learn after a bit more research...
