Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
So is the voltage across those pins when it is running normally or when refusing to come on?Last edited by dick_barton; 01-21-2017, 03:44 AM.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
Disconnect the main board from the power supply.
Connect 1K resistor from 5V to PS_ON
Connect a 2nd 1K resistor from 5V to ON/OFF
Do you have 12V, 24V and DIM= xxV
What voltage between the two legs of C9803 (was 170V)
What voltage between pins 3 & 5 of IC9301 (was 29V)Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
I'll have to get some resistors ordered. I don't have any laying around.
Looking at Digi-Key is it better to get metal or composite film? Tolerance 1% or 5% better? And it looks like there are different wattages (.125 and up)Last edited by jason424; 01-23-2017, 08:41 AM.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
You can either solder them on the underside of the board or push them into the mainboard end of the connector from the power supply (as long as you ensure you have the correct pins).Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
Make sure the resistor leads do not rest on the chassis when you put the board back in. Do not connect the main board. Power up and check all your voltages are present and backlights come on.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
So you don't have the 12V or 24V supply anymore?
Do your backlights come on?Last edited by dick_barton; 01-30-2017, 12:09 PM.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
Can you find / download a schematic for your power supply board. It looks like the PFC circuit is not working. Without a schematic it's difficult to offer any further advice.
Take your time and do the following:-
Check all your diodes with your meter set to diode mode and place your probes across the diode. They should read OL one way and approx 0.5 when you swap the probes across them.
You can also check the mosfets to make sure there is not a short (0 ohms) or low resistance across any of their 3 pins.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Vizio E370VT no longer turns on
I couldn't find a schematic. I ordered a replacement power supply board and installed today. I get the amber standby light but pressing the power does nothing. I tested the voltage and get 125.1 coming in from the outlet. Other numbers are:
ON/OFF: .1
Dim: .1
12V: 12.3
12V: 12.4
GRD: 0
GRD: 0
GRD: 0
24V: 25.3
24V: 25.3
PS_ON: 4.8
5V: 5.2
5V: 5.2
I can hear a faint high pitched hum/buzz which I never got before so we're getting somewhere...can't tell if the sound is coming from the LED driver board or the power supply board.Last edited by jason424; 02-03-2017, 02:28 PM.Comment

"ON/OFF: .1
Dim: .1"
Main board is not sending those two signals for the Backlights circuit.Never stop learning

by fharris1977Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.1 Photo

by Super360Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

by p-topHave vizio E60u-D3. No standby light. Have searched and read all D??u-D3 posts. posts with same symtoms fixed by new power supply, one guy needed back lights also.
main boards are kinda spendy and, out of stock alot of places. i would like to fix my board.

by x_orange90_xI have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...
