No need to do anything now just make sure the female end is seated properly and then do the resistance test, use 200 Ohms scale.

That female end of the power cord does not look like it is inserted all the way in.
I get .4 for resistance on the Hot/Brown. And I get .7 for the Neutral/blue.

no not bad thats about what mine reads have you tested another item in the wall outlet to make sure its ok and works as i have no idea now why you have no mains voltage to that connector on the pcb hopefully budm can advise further
also have you got another item you can check your meter works on ac mode and reads 120v or whatever your voltage usually is be carefull though as mains voltage

So the wiring is good all the way one end of AC male plugs to the connector end of the circuit board, but yet no 120Vac present at the Brown and Blue wire's ends.
              So you are sure that
              1) you do have 120vac at the outlet.
              2) you are making good contact with the two legs of the red incoming AC connector.
              3) operator error.

Re: LG 50PK550 clicking - plasma newbie

It was operator error, more so meter error. I went to test my outlet and my meter wouldn't turn on. I went out and got my better meter (GDT-11) and the red connector tests 125.5 volts at the red connector/brown and blue wires.

I apologize for the goose chase with my junk/cheap meter.

So all the power cord ends, red connector, and AC male plugged in properly and you do have 120VAC at the AC wall outlet, meter set to 200VAC and you put one of your meter probe at L, another one at N, the meter shows 0 VAC, correct?
Notes: we already verified that the resistance between the L on the red connector and AC plug L has < 1 Ohm, same for N on the red connector and the AC plug.

I've unplugged the connector that leads to the video board and tested the 18 pins (stacked 9+9) of the female connector on the board and don't get any voltage to any of them.

ti think it was just his faulty meter budm now hes swopped too a new one maybe he will have some dc readings too as he didnt even have 5v stby not sure if you have read the whole thread budm but he fitted a new ic and when i asked him to clean the board one pad was lifted hence the red wire to join the tracks since then board seems dead no lights no clicking etc

Yes set at 200. I get nothing, except when I get to the 4th pin on the bottom instead of just "0.00" I get "-0.00" so the negative symbol (-) comes up. Looks like that pin is marked as "ERROR DET"

when your testing these voltages are all the boards connected if not try measuring again with alll connecting wires etc in place

Power cord is plugged in to an outlet and all cables are connected except the one at that connector I'm testing.

thats the one i mean plug it back in and maybe carefully touch the pins on the connector itself i dont know if the main board needs to be connected to get voltages etc. Hopefully reece or budm may advise us more regarding all the missing dc voltages

I plugged that cable in and still get 0.00 across all pins (pic) with black on metal chassis.

And I do still have 125 volts at the red connector
