DYP-42W3 BN44-00204A Standby voltage STD5V appears only for a few seconds.

    Hi,
    Got dead Samsung plasma 42".
Standby voltage 5V appears only for a few seconds after plugging the TV in to the socket, then slowly goes down to 0V.
To measure the voltage again I need to leave the TV unplugged for a few minutes.
Checked mosfets, diodes, cold solder joints , can't find anything.
    Need your help guys.
    Thank you.

maybe worth a read and has a schematic and some tests you can do

      Thank you.
Measured voltage between CB808 capacitors legs.
      Waving between 11.85 - 16.03 V
      Is this normal, please?

I suspect the ICB801S (STR-A6159) may be at fault although VCC does appear to be on the low side at 16.03V. It would be worth checking all the components around that IC.

in the other thread i think they replaced some capacitors too maybe worth putting the board back into the set and heating the power supply with a hair dryer for a good few minutes and see if it starts up then as maybe a bad/high esr capacitor issue.

Left the TV unplugged for 2 hours, tried to switch ON, works perfectly.
Switched OFF, not coming back ON same story

So you can ignore ICB801S as it's highly unlikely to be intermittent.
Check CB808 by heating it up with a hair dryer and then see if the set switches on first time.

I refurbish these boards, and most faulty board sent to me are with this problem. Replacing all the 50v caps on the hot side is the first step for reliability (CB802/5/6/7/9) of the stby voltage and PSon circuits

+1 had this myself, also replace any Samwha Wb, Wl and Xc series caps also test all the small ones near the 5vstby Ic for esr. Ive had the smaller Samwha Rd series caps go high esr causing this fault.

                        Capacitors CB808, CB805, CB806, CB809, CB807 has been changed.
All problems with power supply, standby voltage etc... gone.
                        Everything works as it should.
                        Thank you guys for help.
