That just seems to be Heat Transfer grease...nothing to worry about.

As the buffers have tested good so far you need too see what the more experienced members think what else can be causing the issue you have.

As I stated in the very first post, I have had a lot of logic boards go bad on that model.
If you are getting good voltage output from your Y-sustain to the buffer boards then try freezing the BGA chip on the logic board then power up the set quickly after. If that doesn't work, put a hot air gun on it for 15 seconds and then power it on.
It should make the set work temporarily if indeed you have bad contact between that bga chip and the board.

              hi nick,
              photo of logic board attached
1.is the logic board is also the t-con?
2.could you please mark on the photo where is the bga chip?
              thanks.

T-con board is a term used for the LCD and LED TV's. Plasma sets do not have a T-con board but what we call a logic board instead. They do have the same purpose to relay the information from the main board to the panel. They are basically the same just used in different types of TV's.
The BGA chip which is the ball grid array chip is going to be the largest square chip on the board with a silver circle in the middle.
That is the one you want to heat up and or cool down to make it temporarily work.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

                  Hi All,
Exactly same problem, I found the defect on Y-sustain board. The large transformer EBJ60730703 had half of the primary winding interrupted.
Measured on oscilloscope, the floating ground (measured relative to TV ground) was missing the negative part of the wave.
I couldn't repair the board but I'm really happy I found the problem. TV works with another Y-Sustain board.

                    Dear all,
I am trying to repair the ATX power supply.
First I fixed the +5V stby, which was zero due to a shorted TNY279 and an open 2R2 resistor.

Just in case I replaced the PWM control IC (PS223) and the PFC control IC (CM6800).

Now the supply turns on, the +3.3V is fine, but the +5V measures only 2.5V and there is no +12V.

I have checked every diode I could find with a DMM (in circuit) and all the capacitors (in circuit) no shorts, low ESR.
In despair I removed the low voltage diodes which were all mounted on the same heatsink...

I was doing maintenance on my Asus My3604 computer and when I turned it on it did not show an image, a black image, I think it is the bios since it has all the corresponding voltages
I leave the original dump and the series
thank you very much for your help

                    by BigPete
So I've done a lot of searching trying to figure this one out. I've replaced the usual faulty components on this board.
I've repaired a few of these boards already but never had this issue.
                    There's no 5v Stby or PS_ON voltage.
                    There's no voltage at ICP801.
I figure the standby circuit comes from the rectified circuit supplied through the resisters and diodes. Then goes to some Zener diodes and transistors to diode DM832, where the voltage output stops.
From there the circuit goes down to the optocouplers.
I swapped ICP801 and a few other bits and pieces with...

Blinking stby led on a TD systems TV with 17IPS11 PS
                    by edugimeno
                    Hi There!
I have a TV set (model TD Systems K32DLV1H) which doesn't power up.
During power off, the stby red led is on, as it should, then I press power button on remote and the led starts blinking, endlessly.

Sounds to me like a PS problem. TV is kinda alive as it stays in Stand-by, recognizes power up button from remote, etc, but can't really power up.

Internal PS is a 17IPS11. First inspection shows no damaged components, no swollen caps, and multimeter shows all diodes are good. Also there's a dual diode transistor shaped component on a heatsink...
