There are two diodes connected in series to form the snubber circuit, it looks like they were getting hot by the look of the pads. Is it one of the two diodes I circled in red?

yes it's the bigger red oval but the other end of it is directly above the circle.

I've got a bunch of spare diodes laying around, I wonder if one of them would work? I'm assuming it'd have to be a 1 amp? I've got 1A, 1.5A, and 3A diodes ranging from 50V-1000V......

When I removed it and the component next to it(an unmarked barrel that seems to act like a capacitor), the pad that was connecting them fell right out of the board....

OK, I think one of them is the diode for sure and another one is a ferrite bead with bare wire going through the middle of it. Can I see the picture of the part? Looking at this clear closed up picture it looks like it uses RCD snubber.

It has to be fast diode such as UF4007.

1N4007 is too slow and will get hot and burnt up. The UF4007 is the fast speed version of the 1N4007.

Since I have absolutely no patience, I threw the IN4007 on the board as a test and fired it up, only had the monitor on for about 5 minutes but it's working perfectly, I've ordered the UF4007 and will put it on the board as soon as I get it.

I couldn't have done it without you bud, your diagnostic and component knowledge are top notch, thank you so much!!!!

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                  Hi everyone,

I have a NM-A321 board that is dead, with no power at all.

When I received the laptop, the +5VPMIC line was shorted. Removing the PU3 (ISL95905) solved the short, so I ordered and replaced the ISL.

With the new ISL, the short is gone, but still no voltages at all. I measured the following rails:
                                  • +3VALW
                                  • +5VAUX
                                  • 1.2VSUS_PWRGD
                                  • 3VALW_PGD
                                  • 1.05VAUX_PWRGD

Additionally, the ISL95906 (PU3) is not getting any voltage on the VIN rail.

The only place on the board where I find any voltage is on the first MOSFETs, specifically:...

                                  Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. Nikon D5 – dead, power board issue ?
                                  by corrize
Hello, the DSLR has heavyly fallen. It is dead : no sign of life and display nothing.

When it worked, it always displayed a card present state on LCD display, even when the battery is empty it display a empty battery symbol.
I found a dead fuse, I replaced it and a mosfet burnt, I changed it and another fuse burned. Nothing burned after. And I can't find any short circuit anywhere, it's weird.

Now, I try to understand how it works.

There is two boards (the little one on pictures has no component) : the first is a « power board » : managing...
