UN60F7050AF issue (5x) double blink

Hello everyone,

I have a Samsung UN60F7050 TV that I got from someone else with the issue that the red power light was blinking (5x) double blink. After my own basic troubleshooting, I decided to buy a mainboard that was available on eBay, but unfortunately it did not work, the problem persisted. Can someone assist me with some troubleshooting?

double 5 blinks belong to backlight .you may have burned ( shorted ) LED

Unplug the cable between the power supply/LED driver board and the main board, plug the TV into AC outlet, the backlights should then come on and stay on if the power supply and the LEDs backlights are OK.

I did what budm mentioned, and I did not see the lights turning on. I did not hear the power supply making the clicking sound either.

This is the test I have performed. With the power connected, I checked the 450v capacitors and they do not have any voltage reading. I also checked the film capacitor in the HOT area and it does not have any reading either. Can someone tell me if I am checking the film capacitor correctly while the power supply has power?

Or do I need to remove it and test it outside?

That is AC line filter cap. The problem is not in that section because you are getting STBY Voltage otherwise you will see blinking LED.

I expect the power relay RL801S to come on when you run the board without the cable to the main connected so check the DCV between the two legs of the main filter cap CP804 to see if you do have about 380~400V on that cap or not.

hello budm,

When I connect the power to the power supply, I do not hear a click.

I checked the CP804 and there is no voltage at all. It shows ZERO all the time.

If its the relay, can you assist me where I can get it?

It is not likely the relay, the transistor that drives the relay may be not getting the Voltage to turn it on, or bad transistor.
You will have to find out if you do have 5Vdc on the relay coil or not first.
There will be no DCV on the cap CP804 if the relay is not working.

can you let me know which legs I need to select to test the relay for the 5VDC?

I do have some knowledge, but not as much as you :-)

Check the DCV between the two small legs of the relay, you can see that in the picture, they on the left side of the relay.

You on the wrong pins, you are measuring the two big legs of the relay which are the relay contact, you need to move the probes to the two smaller pins of the relay which are in the cold side of the circuit.

OK, it is not getting 5V on the relay coil to turn on the relay.
You are testing the power supply board by itself with 120VAC feeding the board, right?

Yes, that is correct. Power was connected to the power supply while I was checking for relay voltage.

Now we need to trace out the connection on the board to see which Transistor is the one that drive the relay, and see if it is getting the bias Voltage to run it on.

Need to check the DCV between chassis GND and E, B, and C of QS851.
This will not be easy because it is on the bottom side of the board and you have to have the board powered.

I would like to provide the solution to my issue. It was the power supply indeed.

I will be testing the old power supply later. I decided to buy one online and it fixed the issue.
