My son has an LG 60PV250 . The house recently had a lighting strike. Took out his stereo and cable box. The tv seemed fine at first except HDMI ports 1 and 2 stopped working. Now after the tv warms up a little it turns off and then back on again all by itself and seems random. Seems a shame to get rid of the tv but I doubt it's worth getting fixed. I have a Fluke so I can check what needs to be checked. Hate to throw it away. Thanks for the help.

also:Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem

I took pictures this morning and will post tomorrow when I get home. I turned it on this morning and after about 10 minutes it power cycles and then keeps cycling every minute or so. Picture looks great when the tv is on. I assume the main board because HDMI ports 1 & 2 don't work. But what controls the on - off because I think that's also a problem?

The HDMI ports go directly to the main IC. There is nothing much you can do, besides getting a new main board or replace the main IC.

I have looked online for the board. Can any one recommend a safe place to buy? Seems only repaired or used boards out there.

You are only going to find used or repaired. They stopped making plasma tvs 3 years ago.
Ptselectronicsinc.com may be able to repair yours.
