    Re: Digihome (Vestel) LED Backlighting Problem

    Understood, thanks, will do.

    One last question (for now): lots of LED strips for sale on eBay. They mostly all look the same but I've no idea if they are. Eg will any Vestel LED strip work with my telly, or should I seek advice?

      You can use any D type Led strip, what method you planning on using or you replacing the whole strip ?

        Was planning to use the "stacking" method to replace the individual LEDs - having watched you do it in the YouTube video it seems reasonably straightforward.

                  Thanks.
                  I put the numbers in the search box item number but nothing comes up. May be it has to be 'UK' only.
                  OK, I had to put the search the 'http://www.ebay.co.uk/' and then it shows up. I also try 'Worldwide' that did not work either.

                              Re: Digihome (Vestel) LED Backlighting Problem

                              I'm still unsure about my situation.

                              Even for those LED strips that are malfunctioning on my TV (the 1st, the 2nd and half the 3rd), the voltage gets through to them absolutely fine - it marries up perfectly with the voltages that appear at other points on the circuit boards at the top. No sign at all of any broken connections.

                              Something has changed though. The voltages I was seeing the other day for the 3 leads from the PSU were:

                              28V red, 28V brown, 72V black

                              ==============

                              Today when I checked this morning I was getting

                              38V red, 35V brown, 77V black

                              That's the steady state position though. On first turning the set on, red and brown voltages are close to zero but climb quickly for a few seconds. When the red voltage gets past about 20V, the LEDs in the malfunctioning strips (1st, 2nd, half the 3rd) go out, all at the same time.

                              ==============

                              And just now I've checked again and in a steady state I'm getting

                              0V red, 35V brown, 77V black.

                              And the LEDs in the malfunctioning strips - which were dark last week - are just very slightly illuminated.

                              ========

                              I'm still not sure that this isn't a PSU playing up. I can't find any faults anywhere else.

                                LEDs work on constant current, not on constant voltage.

                                  Understood - hence the voltages from the PSU vary a little bit from time to time. I still don't know what the fault is with my set though. Very confused.

                                          Not yet because I spent some time this morning checking the voltages at various points, and the voltages from the PSU are getting through to the LED strips perfectly.

                                          And yet half the LEDs don't light up. Sometimes they light up nice & bright when you first switch the TV on and then go out after a few seconds, but usually they stay dark.

                                          The other half of the LEDs work ok (save for a couple of dead individual bulbs which I've ordered the replacements for).

                                          I can't make sense of it.

                                            by Unimatrix
                                            Hello,
                                            I came across this forum because I need some advice about my Telefunken XF43G511 TV. It is originally a Vestel device. For some time now I have had the problem that the TV gets a black screen when the electronics are heated up. The backlight is still there and the sound still works. It's just the screen itself that goes off. When I switch off the TV and it cools down, the TV works again after a while. Could you please give me some advice on what could be causing this problem? I have also attached some photos of the electronics.

                                            Kind regards
                                            Thomas...

                                            I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

                                            In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                                            1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
                                              Frequency: Happened about once a week.
                                              Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                                            2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.

                                            The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...

                                            Good morning,
                                            I have a problem with Lenovo T580, which after error code 0288 suggests a problem with the display. I checked the display and it works on another laptop. I replaced the display cable with a new one. I programmed another BIOS (downloaded from this forum) and I still have the problem of a dead display - there is an image via HDMI, and the system does not detect the built-in LCD at all. The problem appears to be hardware. What can I check to confirm or disprove this? I found many threads on the Internet related to this problem 0288, but without specific solutions. Please advise....
